We are so happy we went with Renee’s Cake Shop for our wedding! From the very beginning, she was incredibly sweet, professional, and made the whole process feel so fun and personal. Our cake tasting was honestly one of our favorite parts of wedding planning—it was such a great experience that we had to bring our whole family back just so they could try everything too!

Renee helped us with our wedding desserts and made us our cake and various mini desserts (vanilla custard fruit tarts, mini cheesecakes, oreo chocolate mousse cups and chocolate covered strawberries). Everything was super delicious!! She took great care of us (especially because some of our guests have some allergies) and she had the best advice during the planning period. Thank you again Renee!

As a native Floridian getting married in Highlands this May, I was so worried at the start of wedding planning about finding a good bakery for our wedding cake. I was resolved to just ordering from Ingles, if we had to. We heard about Renee’s from our venue owner and decided to drive down the mountain to give it a shot the day after we officially booked our venue back in August.
The flavor of the week was berry chantilly, which happens to be my favorite and the flavor I wanted for our cake! We bought a slice of that and a slice of red velvet since my soon to be husband isn’t a huge cake person and red velvet is his favorite. I had planned to have a red velvet groom’s cake for him, but after he took one bite of the berry chantilly he was hooked! My mom, my fiancé, and I fought over the slice until it was all gone.
I ordered a 6 inch berry chantilly for the weekend of our wedding food tasting as well, and my in-laws (who are not cake people either) loved it!! I consider myself completely spoiled now, as I had a slice of berry chantilly from another bakery this weekend and it couldn’t hold a candle to Renee’s. Our wedding is 93 days away, and I can’t wait for another slice!!!

My mom ordered a birthday cake for me and it was beautiful and boxed nicely. However, the cake itself was a bit dry and the frosting was thick, gritty and not pleasant tasting. I thought it was just me, but my mom and son said the same about the cake. I was extremely disappointed and with the amount of money my mom paid. It cost mom over $70.00 for a cake that was nothing special and that we each barely ate one piece. I understand costs and time involved, but this was too much for something that was not enjoyed and wound up being trashed.

I always tell myself that if there is a parking space near the cake shop it is a sign from god to go get cake!! So I did today. I bought $42 worth of cake slices. Two chocolate cake slices, a red velvet cake slice, a chocolate cheesecake slice and a red velvet cheesecake slice. My husband devoured the chocolate cheesecake slice and said it was an 8 out of 10. I just ate the red velvet cake slice and I was so disappointed!! The cake was so dry! That icing though. The icing was really good. Now Im a little leery of eating the $12 red velvet cheesecake slice. Im just really disappointed over the quality of the cake in the red velvet slice. Also, $12 for a cheesecake slice??? Seems…..inflated. For me, the jury is still out on the cake shop. I will say that the lady who helped me was wonderful and friendly!
