Reid’s is a family owned and operated business in downtown Booneville, Ar. We specialize in smoked meats such as, brisket, ribs, pulled pork boneless/skinless chicken breast and sausage. Our sauces and sides are comprised of our very own recipes and ingredients. Our cooking process is done the old fashioned way. Our meats are smoked from start to finish using wood only. We pride ourselves in not producing a competition style barbecue. We refer to our style as raysrback style. We use a homemade sweet and spicy dry rub that was designed to mimic and compliment the flavor of our sauce. Our meats are prepared daily to ensure quality and freshness. All meats are served dry (without sauce). Our sauces are provided at the table.

Further to my credit… I have had the pleasure of eating some of the best bbq in the world: Franklins bbq, interstellar BBQ, Goldie’s BBQ, Kruez market, Terry black, Leroy and Lewis (when they were in the truck) to name a few. I’ve had the best of the best (self proclaimed by Texas of course).
No line when we arrived (it was cold) and they have plenty of space to sit (which likely cuts down on the line this place would produce). Decided to order to go as my kid woke up with a terrible case of the shits and I didn’t want to subject anyone to that kind of misery :).
We ordered Steve’s sampler (sliced brisket, turkey, jalapeño cheddar sausage, rib, )beans, Cajun okra, Karla fries. Added burnt ends cuz why the hell not and they have them on Saturday
Brisket was perfectly executed. Passed the pull test. Nice bark with perfect seasoning
Turkey: DAMN… get the damn turkey. That’s all I’m gonna say.
Ribs: perfectly cooked. Not falling off, not tough. Meat sticks to the rib, great dry rub balance
House made Jalapeño cheddar sausage: Could eat this all on its own. A whole damn platter of it
Burnt ends: perfect bark, perfect seasoning, nice and moist how they should be.
SIDES
Karly fries: had this Ying/Yang spice of sweet and savory. Lightly covered with Bbq sauce
Cajun Okra: nice dusting of their custom spice.
All in and all, this place is definitely worth the journey. Bbq basics was perfectly executed in my humble opinion. Sides were unique and help differentiate them from the crowded field of bbq world. Not “would return again”… We WILL return again. 😉
Last but not least, the staff was as friendly as can be which goes a long way in my books
We made the drive but sadly they were already out of Ribs & Pulled Pork. We had a great server (Kaylie) and she did an awesome job in getting us to sample what was available.
We ordered two Steve’s Sampler which gave us plenty of options. The presentation was very good. On one platter we had Smoked Turkey & Burnt Ends,Mac n Cheese, Cole Slaw, Potato Salad. On the other tray we had Baked Beans, Okra, Regular Fries & Cajun Fries, Brisket, 2 types of Sausage and what was remaining of the pulled pork. All of which was very good.
We had the Fried Pies for dessert but we only ordered 2 to share. Highly recommend the Pecan Pie w/Vanilla Ice Cream. The second Fried Pie was Blackberry w/Vanilla Ice Cream another great choice.
A down side was the Burnt Ends, I found them way too salty which otherwise would have been excellent.
The positives outweighed the negative. Starting with Kaylie our server, she made our dining experience wonderful! All of the sides we chose were delicious, the top picks were the Baked Beans, Cole Slaw & Potato Salad. I could not say because I’m not a Mac n Cheese fan so I don’t know. The Okra was mediocre and if I’m choosing fries I’m going with the regular.
Since we were first time customers our drinks were comped
Overall it was worth the drive from Ft Smith. Obviously I want to give a higher star rating but I really wanted the Ribs & Pulled Pork. This does not detract from the overall experience, I would still recommend going however, a call ahead before you go would be a great idea to see if they have what you like.
My wife had the Cassie’s Salad. A large plate packed with romaine, smoked chicken, cheese, bacon bits and covered with your choice of BBQ sauce or ranch dressing or both. A tasty fresh salad!
I had the two-meat with a side of creamy slaw and Cajun Fried Okra. Basically, fried okra dusted with a Cajun spice blend. A unique twist on an old favorite. For the meat I had tender juicy sliced brisket and the house made sausage. A delicious meat and cheddar sausage packed in a casing and then smoked to perfection. Three versions of BBQ sauces are on the table. The hot was good, but the medium bootleg was my favorite.
Texas BBQ ain’t got nothin’ on these Hillbillies. Wonderful food great service Eat Here!
