Hands down best matcha you can buy. They have a seasonal drink menu on top of the typical drinks. I always get the seasonal drink and it never misses. The avocado toast is to die for but they are often sold out of it (maybe because I usually go later in the day). All of their paninis are also superb. My best friend and I always meet up here, because it’s our favorite cafe. Very cozy atmosphere too.

Excellent experience. Coffee was so good and my avocado toast was soooo yummy and beautiful! I’ll dream of it. The atmosphere is chill and a cool place to work if you enjoy a nice music selection. It was also a good temperature. Some cafes can lack physical warmth and can be hard from me to even imagine working from but this one had a perfect temperature!

I’ve been a loyal customer of this coffee shop for years and never had an issue with the food. Unfortunately, that changed today. I purchased a sandwich that had a strange taste, and when I opened it, the avocado inside was black, mushy, and clearly spoiled — not just normal browning. It was absolutely not safe to eat.

When I brought it back, the cashier first told me the sandwich was premade and she hadn’t checked it. Then she said she had noticed the avocado was brown but that they still consider that “safe.” That explanation was extremely alarming. There’s a huge difference between natural browning and spoiled produce, and the sandwich I was served was clearly past the point of being edible.

They did refund me, but that doesn’t change the fact that this item should never have been sold in the first place. Not checking the food they’re serving — especially premade items — is a serious food-safety concern that could easily make someone sick.

I’ve trusted this place for years, so it’s disappointing to see the quality and oversight decline under new ownership (the cashier told me they have a new one and things have changed). I’m posting this in hopes the owner sees it and addresses the food handling and quality control issues immediately.

Refuel Cafe is one of my favorite spots. The coffee is great, the avocado toast and burrito are delicious, and the atmosphere is so relaxing. The workers are super nice and friendly. I really enjoy starting my mornings here with my coffee.

I’m a regular and I don’t know what’s happening with leadership. I was just there and they had 3 trainees on shift with no trainer/lead present and it showed. This is the third time coming in on a weekend where my coffee and food didn’t taste good or weren’t made correctly. This place is very good, during the week. If the consistency over the weekend was there, I would give them much higher scores.

Edit:
Since owner thinks I could be an ex employee. I should say, I’m not a former employee, I am a former cook of 12 years though. I’ll introduce myself next time I’m there. To clear things up.

Edit 2:
Deleted due to misunderstanding.

Edit 3:
Spoke with the (new) owner and they’re having issues due to a staffing upset after recently taking over ownership. They told me that they are training a whole new crew and trying to rediscover recipes that the old guard took with them. They seem to care a lot about putting out product that’s good but are having a hard time at it. They urged me (and everyone else I assume) to constructively tell them when things are wrong and they’ll adjust.

TLDR: they’re having problems but trying to fx them. They seem genuine so have patience. 🙂

Final edit:
They’re doing well, increasing scores. 🙂

We tried this place as it’s near our Air B&B and we always like to support local. Sadly this was not the best coffee or food. There coffee was actually worse than Starbucks as it really had no flavor, and the food was not great either. We ordered the breakfast wrap and it was hard and overcooked on one half and soggy and falling apart on the other, not even sure how that is accomplished. I do want to shout out their staff though, they were super nice and friendly, brought everything to our table, kept the cafe clean, and provided an overall enjoyable atmosphere. While I doubt I’ll be going back I didn’t regret giving them try.

Their strawberry coconut matcha latte was probably the best type of matcha drink l’ve ever had (if I said it before about another matcha drink, this one beats it). The balance of all three flavors was perfection. I had it with almond milk.
For food, we ordered the dilettante breakfast sandwich (croissant) – loved it! It was either the cheese, the spread, or how they mixed the green onions in the egg that made it good.
The filling of Their breakfast wrap was mixed well.
There are some places that makes breakfast wraps but the ingredients arent mixed well so there’ll be bacon on one end, potatoes in the middle, and eggs on the other end — why?! But here is nicely mixed so you get a good bite every time
Super nice staff here even on rainy days (coming from LA, rainy days = grumpy people).
The parking lot is small but convenient street parking is available.
When I come back, l’d definitely work from here – very cozy and great natural lighting

Food was amazing. However, it is 1 hour before closing and they won’t serve coffee in mugs and already started flipping chairs to close.

This was such a cute cafe. The coffee was nice and strong-full of flavor. I ordered the strawberry coconut matcha latte and to my surprise it was so good! My panini I ordered was also delicious. We were there for brunch but I did notice there was wine available as well. There is an area for dining in, there were fun games/books to use. You will need to bus your own table. The parking is limited. The staff were all kind and helpful.
