Came here for dinner with my family on the first night of our vacation. I made reservations at this restaurant for each meal we would have, just in case.
The server was very attentive to us while we were there. The restaurant was “pretty,” having a coastal theme and a lot of natural light and partial ocean views.
The crab dip appetizer was the best part of our dinner. From there, the food took over 20 minutes to come out. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t good despite how long it took to prepare it and the price we paid for it. My mom and sister got the special–rock fish, shrimp, rice pilaf, veggies. They said the food was bland and the rice was crunchy as if partially cooked.
I got sirloin tips with mashed potatoes and green beans. Aside from adding salt and maybe some black pepper, there was no seasoning.
After the meal, I canceled the subsequent reservations I made for that weekend.

The “All You Can Eat” Snow Crab Legs, Shrimp, Hush Puppies, Corn, & French Fries were outstanding! This is definitely the “hidden gem” of ocmd. The legs were piping hot steaming, the shrimp was huge and seasoned perfectly, the butter was fresh and tasted like actual butter, and I usually don’t like hush puppies but these were really good! We are SO thankful we found this place and had Karisa as our wonderful server! Safe to say we’ll never go back to the other places and Reef 118 is our new go-to spot for sure
**EDIT August 2025 – We were told in March 2025 that they would “never raise the price, even during season to keep our customers happy” umm okay what happened to that?? $49.95 is WAYYY different than $69.99!!! Are you out of your mind? I literally hate to go against what I originally said in my review but until that price goes back down, we’re going where the AUCE is $55-$60!

Went for the Thanksgiving buffet and it was really nice! The food was good, nice variety of sides to go with the classic Thanksgiving turkey (it was INCREDIBLY juicy). Great staff!

My family had our Thanksgiving meal here this year 2025. It was fantastic. We had all of our holiday favorites plus there was a charcuterie table that was one of the best I’d ever enjoyed. They were very busy for the holiday and handled that immaculately!

$12 for a tiny piece of dry cake. The dinner wasn’t bad although my husband’s potatoes were cold. Which didn’t make sense since we were the only ones in the entire restaurant. Then we ordered a piece of cake. The waitress told us the options and I explained that today is the one day I get dessert since it is my cheat day. I asked what she would recommend especially since we were splitting the dessert. What she brought out was the smallest cake slice I have ever been served at a restaurant. Then we tasted it and it was SO dry. We told the waitress and the response was ” I’ll tell the chef and have him throw the rest away”. WTH, they should be embarrassed to serve a cake like that. I’ve made better cakes with a cake mix and store bought icing. What an entire waste of a cheat day. I would not recommend this restaurant as the food is not worth the price. After tip we spent $83 for 2 people.

We hit traffic going to OC but checked in and headed down to try this restaurant. The food was good and our server was very nice. The size on the shrimp scampi that I ordered was big. I was very surprised and happy. Flavors were all there.

Fish tacos were probably worst I’ve ever had. Kids said the chicken tenders and fries were good. Crab dip with pretzels was just ok, nothing special. Also the frozen drinks had no alcohol, basically was a virgin frozen drink.

I have been visiting ocean city for years for vacations with friends and family members. I have always loved the summer time but the off season vacations were just as great because it wasn’t as busy and I knew I would always find a good hotel for a good price! This was NOT the case with the carousel. I remember staying here as a teenager when it was $300-400 a night during the summer and that was a lot of money to me back then. Years later I am visiting again as an adult and am extremely disappointed (see pictures below) I understand with Covid business are short staff but they shouldn’t be overcharging for the rooms they simply can not keep clean. We were hoping the advertised indoor heated pool would at least be a nice place for us to relax but that once again was not the case. The pool was cold and did not look like it had been cleaned in weeks. The hot tub was also just pool water with jets on and a dirty garden hose pouring out hot water from a sink in a closet. To say the least we were not happy with our stay and will not be giving this hotel our money again.

Was a guest staying here. Tried calling to place an order. Number didn’t work. Walked downstairs with 2 of my children to place an order at the front desk. Was told to go to the bar section to place my to go order. BTW also asked for their number in case I needed to place an order in the future as we were there for a week and mentioned that the number listed online didn’t work as it routed me to the hotel. They told me to go online and find the number. That should have told me something in hindsight. Well walked up to the bar as instructed with only 1 couple seated at the bar and was immediately told I couldn’t be serviced because I had my 2 kids with me. I asked if I could just place the to go order and walk my kids back upstairs and return to pick it up. Of course, the gentleman refused. Went back to the front desk. Asked for the manager who simply said oh I will go talk to him .No offer to make things right or even take my order Afterall he was there when I first walked to the front desk to first attempt to place an order with my 2 kids . Well, there are so many restaurants in town to be treated like this. No wonder the restaurant was empty. Not to talk about the fact that the carousel is outdated and a rip off.
