Donna was so professional and fun server. King crab and rib eye steak was cooked to perfection. Only thing I didn’t like was garlic bread(too oily, prefer just plain). The cocktail shrimp was 3 of very big & crunch prawn, was quite more salty than other steakhouse, but the texture was exceptional. Meat, seafood, veggies: everything was cooked to the right point for best texture and served at perfect temperature to enjoy! Crème Brûlée was recommended as most popular desert here and OMG it was excellent & not too sweet, but very creamy and perfect consistency!

After check-in, I walked around the casino looking for a place to have dinner. The most popular was Aloha Specialties, which resembled a popular plate lunch place in Hawaii. They even served food in ubiquitous disposable foam containers. I passed. I walked past California Noodle House (closed) and Market Street Café, as I wanted drinks and a substantive meal. That meant dining at Redwood or going off property. I was too tired to do the latter, so I got a table at the Redwood.
The decor is modern steakhouse, with subdued lighting, grey / green walls, dark wood beams and light fixtures, and a multi-colored carpet.
I ordered a Hendricks gin & tonic ($14), a warm Spinach Salad ($15), Short Rib Pappardelle ($39), and a glass of Faust Cabernet Sauvignon ($18) to accompany my entrée. Service was very leisurely, which isn’t a good thing because I don’t like waiting. To the good, my gin & tonic came with the proper slices of cucumber … Most places get this wrong. Hendricks gin is infused with cucumber and rose petals; a lime hinders the subtle flavor of the gin.
My salad was fine, except it was enormous! It would have been good for two diners. I consumed half and pushed it aside. My entrée was not quite what I’d imagined … I should have read the menu more carefully. Large chunks of boneless short rib were mixed with the pappardelle pasta in a creamy sauce that reminded me of Beef Stroganoff. It came with two pieces of buttered / cheese toast. Again, the portion was much too large for me, and I would have preferred a marinara sauce. I ate most of the pasta but left most of the short rib. It was too much like stew meat for my palate.
I asked YulA (my server) for a cup of coffee to go and left somewhat unsatisfied. Other diners seemed to be enjoying themselves, so it was likely just me and a poor choice of entrée. $93.20 plus a $20 tip for a so-so meal. Rating: 3.5, probably due more to my foul mood caused by the cancellation of the flight home.

Everything was delicious! The chocolate cake was the best I’ve had in Vegas! I’m a fan of this place! Additional photos located on my profile page and videos on my Instagram page @Primarilylasvegas
Back for Christmas 2026 dinner! The service was A++. The bread retains its top 3 bread rating for me in Vegas. The chicken again rates top 5 in Vegas for us. I tried the prime rib this time and it was good. Not my #1 but was tender and juicy. The mashed potatoes seemed to be a tad different but still very good. The chocolate cake is my favorite cake in Vegas. We also tried the banana cream pie which was also very good! The chef came out making his rounds so we were glad we got to say hello!

This is a must for foodies! This is the place I chose for my birthday dinner. I ordered the 40 oz tomahawk with a lobster tail. Chef Henry prepared the meal which was on point! Thanks Chef!
Donna was our amazing server. She really made sure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed at all times! The bloody orange whiskey sour is fantastic. Thank you Donna! Redwood Steakhouse really made my day special! Thanks to everyone involved! BTW, I hear it’s nicknamed the 5th island for good reason, because it’s amazing!

Presentation and service were spot on! The bread and butter is fantastic. I had the surf and turf…. steak was done the way I asked (medium) and very tender but they don’t season their steaks so flavor was not that great. The side of carrots were delicious but serving was quite small for sharing, the blue cheese Mac n Cheese is yummy but very strong (and I love blue cheese)…the chocolate cake was good, the creme brulee had 3 different flavors in small dishes, the vanilla was great but the other 2 were barely ok.

If you’re craving the best quality and freshness, head straight to Redwood Steakhouse. This hidden gem is tucked away inside the California Hotel & Casino, right next to the Market Street Cafe. Reservations are a must, as this place gets packed fast. The staff here is absolutely amazing, and the food is always spot-on. For starters, I highly recommend the poke nachos, salad, oysters, and escargots. For the main course, go for the rib-eye, king crab legs, or lobster tail. And don’t forget to end your meal on a sweet note with the guava cheesecake or crème brûlée. Trust me, you won’t regret it! You’ll be craving more after your first bite.

We found this just searching google and are extremely happy we tried here. First of all, Donna was the absolute sweetest waitress ever. She seemed so genuine, excited to meet us, and honored to serve us. She provided detailed recommendations of food and drinks as well as a great brief history of the hotel/casino. The food was phenomenal as well. They had a great deal on their anniversary wine for $21 a bottle. There aren’t many Vegas steakhouses that I can think of where you can buy a bottle of wine for $21, let alone a fantastic one. We both ate the maui onion soup which was delicious. It’s a unique spin on a traditional french onion soup because of the different onions. I had the NY strip which was a very generous portion that I’d guess was closer to 20oz than 16oz, cooked to perfection. My wife had the lobster tail and loved it. We finished off with creme brulee for both of us and it was perfect. The temperature and firmness were absolutely perfect on.
Amazing dinner and I would love to be back! Somewhat hidden gem given the lack of advertising and only word of mouth/google recommendations but absolutely worth the stop!

The food here was incredible. Literally compliments to the chef who stopped by and fist bumped me. The best crab cake I’ve ever eaten. The steak was perfect, and so were the sides. Even my mom doesn’t make mashed potatoes this good! The server recommended a fantastic red wine to accompany the steak. I didn’t have room for dessert, but he brought me mints! I highly recommend this place, and it is half the price of nearby steakhouses. My only negative comment was with the hostess. She tried a couple times to sit me at a table in the bar area right next to the door to the smokey casino because I was a solo diner. I am not paying these prices for a meal to be stuck at a table like that. One more item. I know old fashioneds can be made a variety of ways, but nobody I know is looking for chipped ice and soda water filler. One big cube and straight bourbon, please.
