The first visit to the Grayson location was decent. It was about an hour before closing, so the place was quiet. Food was basic but good.
Today we tried the Cannonsburg location, and the visit was a bit odd. They were out of a lot of items: no mushrooms, no onion rings, no traditional wings, and no mac and cheese.
We ordered three 3 piece chicken tenders with fries, a 12 piece boneless wing order, a sausage and pepperoni calzone, and two cheese stick orders (about 6 sticks each, one order was 8.99$) . The food was just okay. Fried items tasted like old oil, and my $12 calzone was disappointingly small and thin, about the size of four Gattiland pizza slices, if you know the reference.
We spent over $90, and for that price, the portions felt small and the quality just wasn’t there. No forks were given, we had to ask for drink refills, and another couple nearby was also unhappy with their food.
It makes me wonder are they short staffed? Struggling to keep food in stock? Overworked? I’m not sure, but something seems off. The food has potential, and I want to support local businesses, but the quality and value need to be competitive.
To be honest, we could’ve gone to Texas Roadhouse for less. Two weeks ago, we spent $80 there and got steaks, kids’ meals, appetizers a ton of food for a better experience.
I hope Red’s can turn it around, because I see potential but right now, it’s falling short.
The Mediterranean Pizza was delicious. Better than I’ve had at even higher end restaurants. Will definitely order that again. Grilled chicken, kalamata olives, tomatoes, red onion, feta, garlic crust.
Food was good on both nights that we were there. Friendly place even though we were strangers to the regulars.
Well, great burger and fries!
