GREAT SERVICE!!!
and I’m hard to Please.
The tea is so good. They need to sell it by the gallon.
Drove from Downtown Kent, Al group of 20, so well organized. It seemed like they were waiting on five people.
Great Job…
Thanks

Great little restaurant, off the beaten path! Home style cooking, fresh salad bar and and pies galore. Super old schoolhouse with beautiful old farm tables. Must try for lunch or dinner. Ribeyes on Fridays and Saturday nights. Definitely Worth the drive.

The best fresh vegetables, fried chicken, and bbq. He loves the creamed corn and I must have the fried cornbread, just like my grandmother made. Decent camp stew. I had the chocolate pie and he had the lemon–both excellent. The folks are friendly and efficient. We make a little detour on our way to the beach just to eat here!

It’s been many years since I’ve eaten here but it was good to be back. The food was great and so was the selection. The fried chicken livers were excellent. We didn’t get any pie because we were so full. The cornbread just has the best taste. We were leaving just as the Sunday lunch crowd was getting there and it was about to get crowded.

If you want to reminisce of the days when you sat around your grandma’s kitchen table partaking of delicious home country cooking, then Red’s Little School House won’t disappoint. This quaint little establishment brings back the days of the past into the present with an atmosphere of times long gone. The restaurant has a variety of foods/plates to choose from but if you want to get a taste of it all, you have to try the buffet. Salad, green beans, fried chicken, pulled pork, fried cornbread, sweet potato casserole, multiple pie choices and the most amazing cream corn I’ve ever eaten. I went back for cream corn seconds as it tasted EXACTLY like my grandma used to make. My only negative would be that the black eyed peas I got seemed to be a bit under cooked and lacked a bit in seasoning considering how deliciously seasoned everything else was. I would recommend that you go with half-cut tea as the sweet tea is very sweet. This is definitely a place I will make a return visit to. The service was friendly and as soon as you were done with a plate they would take it out of the way. The buffet was all you can eat and extremely reasonably priced. Fair warning, it is good ole country cooking and many dishes I’m sure are seasoned with bacon grease and rich so pace yourself or prepare for a bit of indigestion…but it will be well worth it.

Me and my wife drove from Montgomery. Nice drive. Restaurant is easy to find and very welcoming. Our waitress was busy (lunch crowd) but attentive. We had heard about the food and had high hopes. We were not disappointed. We both had the buffet. There was salad bar (we skipped) and went straight for the main dishes and sides. We both had the fried chicken, pulled pork w/bbq sauce, fried cornbread, real mashed potatoes, peas, and creamed corn. It was ALL fantastic. Only issue was plate was not big enough. Everything tasted fresh and the bar was kept with fresh food. We both had a piece of pie for dessert. Wife had chocolate and I had lemon meringue. Will definitely be back to try more of their delicious food.

Red’s Little Schoolhouse has always been one of those special places you don’t forget. The food, the atmosphere, and the sense of home were all reflections of the man behind it. Red poured his heart into this place, and you could feel it every time you walked through the door.
With his passing this past week, it’s clear just how much he meant to the community. He created more than a restaurant — he created a gathering place where families ate together, friends caught up, and everyone was treated with kindness and Southern hospitality.
The meals were always delicious and made with love, but it was Red’s warm spirit that made the experience truly unforgettable. His legacy lives on through the people he touched and the memories shared around those tables.
Thank you, Red, for everything you gave. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

If you have never been, you must visit Red’s Little Schoolhouse. This is a local tradition and a nationally acknowledged treasure. They have all you can eat buffet and also menu options. Friday and Saturday are steak night; Friday lunch is catfish-you don’t want to miss! The people who work here are absolutely amazing. I can’t recommend a restaurant anymore than I do this place
