Red Fish Grill on Captiva was a solid lunch spot for us, especially hanging out at the pool bar. The serving portions were large and generous, making it great value for a relaxed midday meal. Service was attentive and friendly without being overbearing, which fit the laid-back island vibe perfectly. The pool bar setting made lunch feel extra casual and enjoyable—easy, breezy, and exactly what you want while on Captiva. Not quite perfect, but definitely a place we’d happily return to.

Had catch of the day which was Snapper I believe, asked for it fried and they did it for me, excellent, delicious cut of fish, with a very tasty mashed potato and an amazing southwest style bright, sharp, flavorful kale slaw. They all paired amazingly well together, well thought out flavors. Tried some of my group’s dishes, good stuff. As a former chef, I feel like they have somebody back there who knows what they are doing. Usually empty/quiet but nothing wrong. Would go back.
Edit: went back today, got the blackened grouper sandwich off the lunch menu, absolutely DELICIOUS!!! Soon as I tasted it I swooned! Perfectly cooked and seasoned, and there’s, I think, pickled onion on it? amazing pairing! Absolutely loved my meals here! Thank you all for the memorable seafood ❤️ Probably my favorite this trip here.

Reddish Grill was over priced and underwhelming. The worst part was that the place was pretty much empty and it took over an hour to get our food. I would avoid this place if you could. The one positive thing I can say is the proximity to the pool but it just wasnt enough for me to increase the rating.

Ate here for dinner and had an extremely underwhelming experience for the price paid.
Service/Atmosphere:
We were a party of 7 and the only diners in the establishment for a Saturday night dinner service. This made the experience feel awkward, especially with staff peeking out from the kitchen every now and then. For being the only table in the restaurant, we felt the service could have been more attentive to beverages/dishes throughout service.
Food:
Extremely overpriced for the quality. We ordered every appetizer and found only the clams and crab cakes good. The fried seafood was way over salted.
For mains, we ordered a variety of dishes, including steak (ordered Medium rare), red fish, and wedge salads. Overall reviews from the party were underwhelming, and the steak (priced at $50), had a massive issue with temperature. First steak was delivered blue rare, second rare. The grill was way too hot, creating a burnt sear, and the meat was too cold when going on the grill, creating a grey band and undercooked steak. Seasoning on the steak was also too salty.
Other reports from the party included cold proteins and average tasting food. Drinks were good.
In summary, would skip this one!

Be aware that even if you’re staying at South Seas, you might not be able to eat here. The host should probably start off asking potential customers through where they booked their stay. Instead, they let us order drinks and food, then made us wait 20+ minutes before informing that we booked through a service that doesn’t allow access to the restaurant, leaving us with minimal time to find another place to eat when restaurants close extremely early on the island.

The views are amazing and the service is always with a smile. Marina our server was amazing and caring. So much so we came back again the next night for our daughter’s birthday. They made a special desert for her and even wrote a nice note too. Thank you so much to the amazing staff at this restaurant for the memories.

Although reservations can be made over the phone, the restaurant strictly prohibits public access and requires guests to be guest of the property. This is made evident upon arrival at the gate. However, the picturesque residences that dot the route en route mitigate the disappointment.
