Top notch BBQ! What a wonderful surprise on our way out of Richmond. I had the “Midnight in Virginia”. I’m a Cubano LOVER, and this one of the best! It was balanced, flavorful and the bread… perfection. I’m marking as a favorite in Google Maps so I am sure to stop in again! (Got a special chimichurri cheesesteak with brisket for my son back home.)

Some of the friendliest service I’ve ever gotten while picking up food. Shoutout to the staff! And shoutout to your delicious burgers, fries, and cornbread. The mac & cheese was alright- but needed more flavor. I highly recommend checking this place out!

Would love it to be bigger, but I love the cozy feel. Won’t be shocked if they have to move elsewhere to expand operations! The meal was outstanding! The service and accommodating attitude of the staff was really refreshing as they were attentive and wanted our business. Complementary sweet tea was a nice touch (I don’t even drink it but others with me did)! Chicago style pizza was truly authentic and great!!!(ordered 4 different ones). Smoked mushrooms – so smoky and delicious along with everything else!! See pics!

I was really excited to try out this place when I learned they did heritage style Virginia bbq. My expectations were certainly meet if not exceeded!
The server was also incredibly kind and welcoming.
Unfortunately some of the times were sold out when I got there around 4pm, but that is to be expected from good bbq so im not blaming them!
All of the sauces were delicious, and I loved how they had a list of all the historical background for the sauces.
Also there was complimentary sweet tea!

We ordered the Chicago style deep dish pizza with brisket and loved it. Perfect balance of cheese, crust, meat and sauce. BBQ sauce pizzas can be hit and miss but this was perfect. You have to call the store to order it, it’s not listed via online ordering.

I really enjoy the weekend specials here. The pizza is also amazing and quite close to what you get in Chicago. It’s one of only two places currently that serve a deep dish in Richmond.

What a gem! Missing Deep dish pizza from Chicago? This is as close as you’ll get here in RVA! Great bbq, great sandwiches! He even does some Chicago style beef sandwiches that are amazing! Follow on fb for specials. The owner supports local farms and uses pasture raised meats! While you wait for your freshly made order, enjoy complimentary iced tea and watch a little tv.

When we got here before 1 PM on a Saturday, they were out of Brisket. My husband and I were bummed out. Luckily they had two serving of the Brisket Burnt Ends left, they were amazing. I had to say that it was my favorite. My son liked his Barbecue Beef Cheesesteak. I didn’t care for my Pork Cheesesteak, it had too much bread and not enough meat. The meat was slightly dry, I had to load the pork with lots of BBQ sauce for flavoring. We didn’t like the Brunswick Stew even though it was thick and filled with shredded pork. I would definitely go back just for the Brisket Burnt Ends.
