I never really make it to DTLA anymore but if one does, Redbird is pretty great for an intimate dinner, drinks at the bar, celebration with friends, etc.

Their menu is pretty solid and they seem to do their basics very well. The porkchop was my favorite. The lamb shank was decent and the curry sauce was excellent. The pastas and salads are always on the mark.

What they also do well are cocktails, classic and new fusion and love the night cap menu where they seal a cocktail for you to-go. The wine and desserts are pretty mediocre. Better to just get another cocktail in my opinion.

I found the service wonderful. Efficient and friendly. They are run by professionals, which are hard to find these days.

The thing I really enjoyed was the atmosphere, especially in the main dining room with open roof. Really sets the ambiance apart from other restaurants.

From the moment we arrived we knew this was a special place. The staff was beyond friendly and greeted us with warmth and made us feel welcomed. The location is beautiful and is a destination worthy of praise. We were there for brunch and the food was sublime. We never felt rushed and we were able to fully enjoy our food. We were also able to tour the cathedral/event room. Very impressive. We will be back.

Great vibe, nice hospitality, can’t beat the setting. The food was good but not out-of-this-world good. Our favorite part was actually the free bread to start the meal. We weren’t told what it was but it was stuffed with a light cheese? and it was amazing. The crudo was fine but nothing unique. The roasted figs were very good but very sweet, it’s right up there for one of the best desserts I’ve ever had, but was an appetizer.

The pasta was also fine, but pretty unremarkable. Not pictured is the smoked bbq tofu, which was good and a big portion, but also very sweet, it was really the only flavor to the dish.

Mango pudding for dessert was beautiful but I’d get something else if I returned. The scoop of frozen yogurt was exceptional.

As we acclimate to being parents and finding places that we can pop in and still have a good time with our baby, Redbird raised the bar.

We were able to walk in firstly get to order from the happy hour menu which does come with the requirement of being seated inside in their lounge area but it in itself is a vibe! Food was amazing, the servers were kind and attentive, and the drinks and bartenders were next level great!

Baby friendly, and spacious to walk around. The whole aesthetic is beautiful and I recommend this for anyone traveling to LA

Attended a wedding here last weekend and really loved it. The venue was beautiful and elegant, perfect for the occasion. The food was delicious, especially the scallops and steak. Highly recommend for weddings or events.

The atmosphere is chill but distinctly upscale. The inside seating has a fancy lounge vibe to it. We sat outside with the open air ceiling and it was very pleasant. The menu was not overwhelming but still had some nice options. The food was delicious. The drinks were on point. Great spot for a nice date. We will be back.

We came here on the day the LA protests were happening. So things would have been quieter i am sure.

I highly recommend the prawns which were full of flavor. The snap peas were so refreshing and delightful.

I really liked the Cavatelli because it wasn’t too heavy. The pork chop was prepared very well.

The desserts were just OK. The guava sorbet was gritty and the Earl Grey didn’t quite come together.

The outside air tables were nice but definitely would have been better with the helicopter or loud blasts.

Service was good and staff were very informative.

This place was worth the visit!

Met up with friends for a truly delicious dinner. Highlights:

Good happy hour deals, but the discount does not apply to the dining area though you may still order anything from that menu.

Food favorites: prawns w/ pineapple salsa, summer truffled gnocchi, whole crispy branzino, and peach and cream pie. Prawns were succulent while the salsa added some tartness that enhanced the overall flavor and the almonds on top added a contrast in texture. The gnocchi were incredibly soft and paired nicely with the corn crema, could have done with more truffles though. Branzino was served with a beautiful lemongrass broth that is poured on top at the table. The branzino was tender and absorbed the broth’s flavor well. Peach and cream pie was light and a lovely way to end the evening.

The restaurant was about half full, which wasn’t bad for a weeknight evening, but when I came years back, they were packed on a weeknight. It didn’t help that there were a dozen police cars lined up across the street when my friends arrived (we have no clue what was happening). Definitely get the apprehension about coming out to DTLA, but there are restaurants like Redbird that are worth coming out for, especially if you’re looking for an elegant and worthwhile dining experience.

Amazing night at Redbird. Fantastic cocktails, great chef, premium table service. Seven course meal off the hook everything delicious. Hidden away in downtown LA unobtrusively in a wonky neighborhood. Lovely old artisan construction. Definitely shouldn’t be missed.

Antique, Vintage and Classy. The place is in LA downtown and it is really beautiful. We spent a quite winter evening evening over there. It was our wedding anniversary and they made it really special for us. I would recommend everyone to visit this place. The presentation was elegant. the food was delicious, the service was fabulous. Thanks Redbird for making our evening special. I would surely visit again.
