All time greatest place for an unforgettable, unbelievable, undeniably fantastic NY Strip steak. This is an unassuming little tavern off the beaten path in Warren County. The waitstaff is super friendly. The appetizers are delicious and I cannot stress enough – if you want a NY Strip done right. Then THIS IS THE PLACE.

First time to this well renowned establishment. Terrific drinks, terrific beer menu, epic steaks! Opened with Mussels, stuffed clams and calamari. All very good, though the calamari was on the stiff side. The rolls brought out were splendid and worked as edible sponges while soaking up the sauce from the mussels. For steak entree I had the New York strip, Alpha cut (16 oz), medium (NY strips range from Wolf Cub [8 oz, $27] to Red Wolfe [48 oz, $115]. Came out almost perfect in the cooking and with a glob of garlic butter (extra $) on top, tasted delicious. Paired with a side of dirty mashed n gravy along with a Chimay, I was more than content by the end of the meal. Our waitress was spot on, and younger support staff are learning. Reservations for 1-5 people are “limited” to 90 minutes and for 6+, 2 hours, but we weren’t rushed to leave despite running 15 late. The place is small and spots are practically always accounted for, so needless to say the atmosphere has a party feel. Can’t wait to come back!

Invited by friends, the four us visited on a Wed evening (doesn’t open until 5PM) and I was surprised to learn that reservations were recommended even to sit at the bar. Very unassuming on the extetior with a gravel parking lot, the smallish interior has cozy, pub-like feel. But in addition to some expected pub fare, the menu boasts a surprising selection of apps, beef, pork, poultry, seafood and pasta. Appetizers such as escargot and frog legs were unexpected. Took advantage of the escargot and as the venue is known for its New York Strip Steaks, ordered the 8oz “Wolfe Cub” ( the steaks range in size up to 40oz) prepared black and blue, with blue cheese crumbles and a baked potatoes. Service was very friendly and efficient. The escargot was flavorful and tender, drenched in a rich garlic butter sauce. The steak (pictured) was perfectly broiled, crisp on the outside, rare as expected on the inside, smothered in blue cheese, and clearly a high quality cut. Skipped dessert and opted for some port. Including 2 glasses of wine, my tab was $90 including tip. Only weak point is that wine choices seem limited. When I requested wine, instead of a list I was offered choice of 3 varieties of red and 3 of white. Nonetheless, would definitely re-visit

Came with 8 friends for a Great steak dinner, and it didn’t disappoint in the least. This is a place you come for the taste of a top quality steak. They don’t go crazy with seasoning that masks the meat up. Old school steak at its finest. Thanks for the wonderful experience

Surprising popular restaurant needed a reservation for mid week dining. Sat at the bar service was friendly and quick. Got our drink order promptly and ordered our diner. My gold standard test is the cheese burger and I wasn’t disappointed. Great menu choices. Busy place and parking could be a problem. Worth a try.

I had a very confusing experience here. It came highly recommended by my family, but we left bewildered and frustrated.

Just wow. My expectations were high coming in from all the great things I was hearing and they weren’t just met they were exceeded. For being such a small place with only about a dozen tables and bar seating made it feel even more exclusive to be able to get a table there. ( reservations are extremely recommended) the menu has a surprisingly large amount of options but everything sounded so good reading it. Started with the appetizer sampler and all five things were delicious. My entree was a 32 oz New York strip. They have lots of options for the size of steak you want which was really nice. When the steak came I was shocked how thick it was. It was like a true Butcher House cut. It was cooked perfectly, very tender, and not over seasoned either. I did not need any steak sauce but I did try they’re homemade steak sauce which came in 2 options. Sweet and spicy. I tried the sweet and it was delicious. For dessert we shared a tres leches cake which was also very good. Overall between the great service we got from our waitress and the excellent quality of food we got made this place a definite new favorite place to dine at. The prices are also Fair and you definitely get what you pay for. Wish I could give it more than five stars.

The food and service were amazing! By far the biggest steak I’ve ever seen – cooked perfectly. Appetizers were also excellent, especially the chicken wings. The service from Kelly was amazing! Can’t wait to go back.

Done. Food is excellent but it stops there. We’re local have been going for years. But it starts with making a reservation and being told that you have a time limit on the table. Should I deduct the 15 minutes that we waited before a server came to the table? Appetizers arrived timely. But entrees were served before we were done with the appetizers and they were cleared. Really? It’s so incredibly noisy that it’s a struggle to have a conversation at the table. Glad that they got rid of the carpet but the new floor just echoes the noise. Place is packed every night. Good for them. I’ll go elsewhere.
