This is one of those places you want to review but also keep secret. You know it’s going to be made special when you walk in and feel the family vibes all throughout the walls. The decor, signs, artwork, and even the classic white oven in the back fill the air with as much warm homey feelings as their sweets. Exceptional baked goods like cookies, pies, cakes, muffins, donuts, sweet buns, and more. Honestly, I can’t just recommend one thing here, be prepared to spend up to get your own fresh collection and share with friends. The coffee is well balanced and locally sourced. The fruit is fresh as if picked before serving. Highly recommend.

What a joy it is to visit Red Wagon Bakery! From the warm and welcoming atmosphere, to the lovely staff and the superb baked goods, plus breakfast and lunch options – there is something for absolutely everyone. It is such a bright spot in Canaan and Nellie, the owner is an expert on all beautiful, delicious things and is wonderful to chat with. I highly recommend the breakfast biscuit – it is the best breakfast sandwich you will ever have. The shortbread, the banana bread, the tarts, the daily quiches and the beautiful cakes that change on a regular basis are just some of the delights you will find there – stop in the next time you’re in town, you won’t regret it!

We brought our out-of-town guests to breakfast here, and everyone was absolutely delighted with the locale, the cozy, charming decor, and the incredible food. The staff members were friendly and knowledgeable. Everybody tried something different, and everybody was happy about it. 🙂 My kids gobbled everything on their plates. My favorite special touch was the unique, individual cloth napkins and plates. The food was fresh, local, and delicious, and the ambiance was so cozy and welcoming. What else can you possibly want?

Red Wagon Bakery is a local gem. The Tina’s Toast is my absolute favorite and you can’t go wrong with any of their baked goods! (I am always so impressed by the selection!) The espresso brownie is especially amazing if you can snag one. I just love this place.

Red Wagon Bakery is a true gem and totally unexpected. We loved it! Great food with wonderful, healthy ingredients. The menu avoids being too complex but has something good for everybody, including good options for kids. The low prices seem more suitable for low-end fast food and made it the perfect choice. Great healthy food and very low prices — it doesn’t get better than this! We’re looking forward to our next visit.

This place is a cut above! Pleasant decor, great service and really excellent food. I had their “hearty meal” and it was as good as anything you can buy in this or any of the nearby towns. The meatloaf was full flavored and satisfying without being overly heavy. The fried potatoes were subtly flavored and just-right-toasty. And the slice of homemade bread was truly outstanding. I am so happy to have a first class local bakery!

Worth a detour! I have been meaning to visit Red Wagon since they opened and finally did so today – I wish I had come sooner! My breakfast avocado toast with fried egg and fixings was excellent, as were the baked goods we took home. Staff was friendly and efficient, working through the line and serving people very quickly. There’s plenty of comfortable seating inside and out, plus wifi. I’ll be planning to stop here any time I’m hiking Cardigan or biking the Greens — and other times too. I can see why this place had a nonstop flow of customers while I was eating.

You must stop at the Red Wagon Bakery! We grabbed breakfast on our way to hiking Cardigan and will be back the next time we are in the area – for sure.

I *highly* recommend “the breakfast biscuit” – it’s a sweet twist on a breakfast favorite!

The staff is very friendly. They have great backyard outdoor seating and will soon have a porch out front.

After you have enjoyed a scrumptious breakfast or lunch, do yourself a favor and get a box of baked goods for later. We have been enjoying our variety of carrot cake, cookie, and energy ball snacks for several days 🙂

A true gem of a bakery, owned and run by the kindest people you will ever meet! Not only is the food delicious but the decor is so warm and welcoming. Best seat in the house is the green chair by the window, snag it if you can! Can’t wait for summer at RWB!
