I love Red Top! It has been a family tradition to go there a few times each summer with my kids, since 1993. It’s a small place. All seats are outside which just contributes to the nostalgia. They use wardynski hot dogs, which in my opinion, are the best. The workers are very friendly. Very nice people. Cash only. Reasonably priced. I would recommend going here. And I will continue to go each summer.

Portions were tiny, and everything was overpriced. In my opinion, for what you get, the banana milkshake was the worst I have ever tasted in my life.
The place is run down. I won’t be surprised if it closes soon.

Yikes. Just want to start this by saying there’s a place down the road, go there. Went there for a quick lunch with my family. It wasn’t busy and yet every order was messed up or items forgotten while I was there. The first lady had her fries forgotten. The second had her chips or something forgotten and she simply asked me what I got because she didn’t know. I ordered 2 hot dogs, a cheeseburger and onion rings. I believe I was charged a to go container (never got one). And look at those $3+ onion rings. Laughable. The lady grabbed my food with her bare hand and then said “Oops” aloud knowing her mistake. And my onion rings were chewy and soft. Cash only, but that’s not a big deal. Still can’t believe it was like 5 chewy onion rings for $3+.

Food wasn’t much to brag about. It this is a very old school place and it’s kinda respectable for keeping it that way. Big thing is it’s cash only and all seating is outside not the worst as you get a bit of a glimpse of the lake. Personally not a fan of the open style help your self to the condiments as there’s flys flying around.

Love this place. Best place to come for some original hamburgers hot dogs milkshakes Italian sausage. Everything is delicious made quickly only thing is they only accept cash no credit cards but it’s worth it. Great summer staple for my family for years and years to come.

Great little place near Hoover Beach in Hamburg. I’ve been going here since I was a little kid and have taken my son a few times as well. Very nostalgic. Walk across the street and down the rocks to a special little place on the “beach”, Hoover Beach. Not the nicest place, but again, nostalgic, and quiet. Great place to collect little shells and pretty rocks. Great place for relaxing and skipping stones.

Just a shack overlooking lake Erie. The hot dogs were really good. They use Wardynski’s hots rather than Sahlens like at Ted’s. I’m torn between the 2 places now. Ted’s has a nice indoor dining room but Red Top has picnic tables under a roof with lake breezes keeping you cool. I will definitely be back!!!!!

We make the 30 minute drive to Red Top several times every summer – especially when we have friends from out of town. Simple menu, friendly service, good prices and the food is *always* excellent.
Hot dogs, burgers, fries, and onion rings. Soft drinks and milk shakes (and probably coffee) cover the beverages. Everything is very good.
Their site says “Cash Only” but they do accept credit cards.
All seating is outside, right across the road from Lake Erie so there’s generally a nice breeze off the water. There are concrete tables with matching seats but there is a covered area with regular picnic tables also.
Very informal and always enjoyable with excellent food!

What’s not to love at this hole-in-the-wall hamburger joint?
First let’s talk location. Sit outside under the pavilion & you can enjoy a great view of the lake. The water was especially green late this morning when we stopped for an early lunch.
We were headed to 18 Mile Creek for some fishing & decided to get a bite to eat first. We passed the Tim Horton’s, realized it might be the only place we could grab a bite, and turned around to go back. Almost to their parking lot, we spotted this awesome little stand across the street from Tim’s, and since I’m not really a fan of Tim’s lunches, I pulled into this place instead.
There’s plenty of parking. Plenty of covered outdoor seating. We chose a spot in the sun since it was still kind of chilly in the shade.
Now let’s talk about the food. That’s the reason we all go to these places, right? The menu is very straightforward. Hamburgers, hot dogs, and a couple of surprises. But the real treasure as far as I’m concerned are the fries. They are the perfect combination between French fries and potato chips. As I sit here writing this review in the parking lot of the fishing access for 18 Mile Creek, I’m already trying to plan a way to convince my husband we need to stop on the way home for more fries. The cheeseburgers we ordered were perfectly cooked. I can’t imagine they’d mess up any of the food on the menu.
Finally, I’d be remiss if I failed to mention the great customer service. The three guys working are so friendly & welcoming. Do yourself a favor and stop by for a hot dog or milkshake at the local gem!

Amazing food! This is the best hotdog stand in Buffalo, hands down. Their french fries are my favorite. I love their black raspberry milk shakes as well. The staff is always so welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend!!
