Social Profile:

Established in 2012, we are a 12-year-old Chinese restaurant located near Stony Brook University on Long Island. We were the first in the area to offer handmade dumplings, soup dumplings and a variety of other dim sum delights. To this day, we continue to use traditional handcrafted methods to provide nearly 30 different types of high -quality dim sum appetizers. Our menu not only features Americanized stir-fry dishes but also showcases authentic regional Chinese cuisines, including Sichuan and Hunan specialties. And some Vegan dishes. We have been highly praised by the media for offering great value. We remain dedicated to serving people with passion and enthusiasm because we believe that great food should never be monotonous.

Amazing experience overall. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care, every dish we tried was delicious. The atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable, perfect for a relaxed meal. What really stood out was the service; the staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely taken care of. Portions were great and everything came out in a timely manner. Definitely a place I’d come back to and recommend to others.

Amazing Chinese comfort food around this area!! I’m so glad to have found this place and it is cozy and serves such good food. I have ordered many times from here before and have also eaten in!! My personal favorite dishes are their string beans and their xlb. Reminded me a lot of home:) In addition, their service is also very fast and I love how they recommend me dishes when I’m struggling to order. Overall, will always come back again and bring my friends too!

Red Dragon Dumpling House in Stony Brook was great. We ordered dumplings, scallion pancakes, and shumai, and everything was fresh and delicious. The dumplings were flavorful, the scallion pancakes were perfectly crispy, and the shumai was really good. Food came out hot and fast, and portions were solid. Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to.

Ate with four others, ordered the lunch special seasame chicken and it came very quickly. The seasame chicken tasted really good and the rice portions were large enough to make me full after finishing. Would come again.

Its been many years since Ive had Dumplings on Long Island NY that stood up to my personal favorite Hunan of Levittown in late 80’ through early 2000’s when it closed. ( Not to be confused with Hunan Dynasty ). Today my wife and I found Red Tiger D.H and had their simple Pork Vegetable steam dumpling and Pork&Shrimp Shumai with green tea. BAM they were awesome and completely hit the spot!!! All of it clearly hand made and with a food love. We cannot wait to return and order more from the menu which was full of mouth watering dishes. Today was merely a sample and pleasant surprise.

The interior decor shared in pictures is small with limited amount of seating which is very traditional but also very clean. All services were extremely friendly and welcoming from start to finish. If your local or even somewhere on Long Island and seek great oriental food, here is your place for sure!!

Red Tiger Soup Dumplings delivers a solid dining experience for fans of this classic dish. The atmosphere strikes a nice balance between cozy and modern, with a welcoming vibe that suits both casual meals and small gatherings. The menu focuses heavily on soup dumplings, offering a variety of fillings like pork, crab, and veggie options, all crafted with care. The dumplings themselves are a highlight—delicate wrappers, flavorful broth, and well-seasoned fillings that hit the spot. Some standout variations, like the spicy pork or truffle-infused options, add a creative twist without straying too far from tradition.
Service is generally attentive, with staff quick to explain the menu or offer pairing suggestions, though it can feel a bit rushed during peak hours. Sides like scallion pancakes and cucumber salad complement the dumplings well, though the portion sizes for non-dumpling dishes can be on the smaller side. Prices are reasonable for the quality, with most orders staying affordable for a satisfying meal.
The main critique would be consistency—on occasion, the dumplings can arrive slightly overcooked or with less broth than expected, but it’s not a dealbreaker. Overall, Red Tiger is a reliable spot for soup dumpling enthusiasts, offering a tasty and approachable experience that’s worth checking out if you’re in the mood for a steaming basket of xiao long bao.

Been here a few times and it is a really great restaurant especially for groups. Food is tasty, affordable and very sharable. Each person could come get 1 thing of dumpling and mix and match. Only problem is there’s always a crowd.
