I wanted to try a brunch spot in the area and this spot stood out to me. We went and we had a warm greeting from the staff and loved the vibe of the place. The brunch special was good, we had the crab dip which my hubby loved. Then my plate was the Cajun fish with grits and hubby had the shrimp and grits. Everything was good, the waitress was polite, patient, and made sure we were ok. I would recommend this place of someone wants to go to a brunch place in Charles County, Maryland.

What a pleasant “store front” surprise!
After reading so many positive reviews I decided to visit the Red Tails Restaurant. Located in West Waldorf, Maryland on St. Patrick’s drive the restaurant is unpretentious, modern, clean, spacious, and inviting. One slight glitch was the person at the front greeter’s desk was less than welcoming and made no eye contact – which was an immediate turnoff for me – I like happy-a-life greeters. I dismissed it as youth, lack of interest in the job, and possibly missed thorough training follow-up. Thus, the rating was 4 stars in this area. 5 stars in all the other categories.
That said, the menu had a wonderful array of choices to select. I ordered the stuffed eggs (without the bacon), fried oysters, and a cup of crab chowder soup. My guest ordered the cream of broccoli soup and the salmon Caesar salad. Beverage was cranberry and orange juice mixed. (See photos). For dessert we shared a slice of carrot cake with pecan drizzle. (Photo shows we ate it)!
The background music – Earth, Wind, and Fire album added to the warm, comfy dining experience.
Although there was a visible football game going on in the bar area, it wasn’t overly loud, and didn’t interfere with our pleasant dining experience.
All in all we were pleased with the entire meal and environment. We will definitely return and highly recommend this restaurant. Check out the menu before going and make reservations if possible.

I would definitely recommend it. I think the apps are a bit pricy for what you get, but the entrees are great, and you get your money worth. Hubby loved the jerk lamb chop. (They are not burnt) Had to sprinkle a little extra Obay on my fish and crab dip. Ask for Charles, he made sure every plate came out hot. We coming back!!!

We went for lunch on a Saturday around the tune they opened. We were the only ones in the restaurant, but the service was good along with the food. We had the deviled eggs and Brussel sprouts for an appetizer, which was delicious. Our entrees were good and so were the drinks. Although a bit costly, the rum punch was good. Overall, we had good experience.

Went here for a birthday get together. Had a good time. Was seated right away (made reservations). The atmosphere was nice, restaurant was clean for the most part, servers were nice and the food was good. Good amount of options for drinks as well. Took a little bit for all the drinks to come but not horrible. Music playing was great. So great many people were singing along. Will definitely visit again.

My mom often goes here with her friends, so I decided to stop in one day during happy hour. The service at the bar was nice and they were attentive. However, the food was lacking in flavor. For example, the grilled old Bay wings literally tasted like they didn’t have any seasoning, which was disappointing because they were nice size.
I would return to try other entrées, such as the jambalaya, which I heard was pretty tasty.

My family, 11 of us, came for Good Friday dinner. Everything including the service was outstanding. William, our server, was polite, precise and a total joy. Food was delicious we all left stuffed. I have attached pictures of our food, definitely will be back.

Overall very pleasing dining experience with great ambiance. The staff was professional, friendly, and very attentive. Love the fact that there is separate dining area from the bar and although there were people at the bar it didn’t get too loud. Last but not the least, the food that we tried was absolutely delicious. We tried their “Fresh Catfish Fingers, the Jambalaya, and the Shrimp & Grits”. Would highly recommend this place and my husband and I will certainly be back.

I paid $95 for our meal! The Catfish fingers were the same size as a quarter, the lemon pepper wing were dried out the buffalo wings had no flavor the shrimp and chicken pasta was fine and then the calamari were dried out and hard with no seasonings or flavor . I would never go back to that restaurant. This is the first time I went there, but I would never go back.
