We tried to come to this restaurant a couple of years ago but they were closed. We finally made it upon the recommendations of an employee of where we are staying. Very colorful and roomy restaurant. We came after the lunchtime crowd, and well before dinner, so we had the place pretty much to ourselves besides the take out orders. Hubby dined on oxtails, cabbage, plantains with a nice gravy! (he enjoyed them so much, I didn’t get to taste them!) I had jerk chicken with a spicy sauce. Most Jamaican restaurants don’t offer white meat any more, just the dark, so I was really happy to try theirs and it was good! I also had rice and peas, cocobread and a bottled drink called Island Mango. Please stop by if you come here. They will welcome you!! Beef and chicken patties are on the menu as well.

1st time at location while visiting and the rating and my experience was definitely different. Ordered the curry chicken with Mac n Cheese n cabbage. $20 plus for a curry meal with very little meat. The Mac and Cheese was about the only thing hot while the rest was warm. It’s ok Jamaican food

Ok now let me tell you if you are in South Carolina…Come on over to Hilton head island because this food right here!!!!! I was staying in a hotel nearby and thought that I wanted seafood and as I was googling places close to me that delivered I saw this one was in walking distance. I went ahead and looked at the menu online. First of all everyone who eats here should be writing about how spectacular the food is because it is just that! There was nothing that I ordered that I did not like. I had Mac and cheese, rice and peas ox tails, curry chicken, pineapple soda, and I can’t remember what type of dumplings they were, but they were a little spicy and amazing! I met the owners who are awesome and the swag of the restaurant was giving total Jamaican vibes! There is a Bar inside, and a few folks were hanging out. Very good energy at the spot. I can’t wait to return!

Very easily one of the best Caribbean restaurants I’ve been to. Great food and service. They have the best jerk chicken. The owner and his wife are really nice people. I hope they are in business for many years to come. Definitely worth a visit id you are in town or just vacationing.

We were looking for a hearty and down home lunch that did not blow the budget and Red Stripes fit the bill. As usual we sat at the bar and I had a Rum Punch with curried goat…(don’t be scared it’s delicious!) my husband had a rum & ginger beer with jerk chicken. Then we had to get an order of curried chicken to go! Of course ! All of the sides are great and if you can’t decide just get an extra on the side! Yummy!!!! & Delish!!!

We had a chance to visit Red Stripes a couple of weeks ago and let me tell you… This is one of THE most amazing Caribbean restaurants that I’ve ever visited. The place was very, very clean. The staff was very very friendly and the food was very very VERY good.
I consider myself a Caribbean food connoisseur and I’ve eaten at pretty much all the Caribbean places in my hometown of Charlotte, but while we were in Hilton Head, we decided to stop by and try red stripes. We also frequent Jamaica and the food here tasted exactly like some of the best 5 star restaurants in Jamaica.
We also got a chance to chat with the owner, his wife and their staff and they were really gracious and down to earth and made it a point to make us feel welcomed. This is truly a hidden gem off the beaten path in Hilton Head.
I had the ribs, collards and macaroni and cheese and it was amazing . I also ordered some cocoa bread and it was so good that we had to order it twice! These guys definitely know what they’re doing!
So keep up the great excellent work “Mi Gena” and stay earth strong! We’re rooting for you and will definitely be back soon to have a little taste of Jamaica!

Not only was the environment inviting, but the food was absolutely heavenly. Our waitress, Keisha, was patient and polite. She took time out to explain each item we ordered so that no confusion would be allowed. HIGHLY recommend this spot to relax and enjoy a true taste of the Caribbean!!!
