The food was great, no doubt. But the lack of utensils are an issue. They provide you only forks, and no knives and spoons. And sometimes the staff doesn’t see us, they just skip us over for the next 10 minutes or so. But this is an otherwise great restaurant with great food, I highly recommend if you’re looking for a quick bite on the road. They do close down early sometimes, and often without a reason.

It used to be called Red Star Grill, now it’s called Rock House Diner. I had the chicken livers, onion rings, fried okra, and local morel mushrooms. It’s just a little off the beaten path, but I definitely recommend it.

We were heading through town very early morning from spending some time in Burnside, Ky for spring break and we needed an emergency restroom stop and noticed the open sign on. The one woman working there was more than friendly and so were the patrons. Was told they had the best biscuits and gravy in the area by one patron, but we didn’t have time to partake in the goodness. Thank you so much for the use of your facilities. It made a possible start to the day turn good!!

This place is a destination for us. We drove up one day amd they had a sign that they were closed. I called before we drove 2 hours the next time. It was so very worth it! Home cooked food, awesome prices and an atmosphere that makes you feel like your at your grandmothers house for Sunday dinner. If your anywhere close to this restaurant, take the time to stop in! One day in the near future, all the little local spots will be gone.

I popped in here on my way to look at a property up the road. Not only did I get amazing and friendly service, I was able to get some banking recommendations and a few other other local tips from other diners. I did end up buying the spot, and I can’t wait to back to try more than just the frog legs – this time as a local!!
