My son chose this location for a birthday dinner for just the two of us. We both love Indian and Mediterranean foods and they offered both in addition to Ethiopian.

There’s a big shopping center parking lot with plenty of parking so that’s not a concern. It’s in more of an older shopping center in an area that’s not very well kept. Either way, we felt safe and wanted to try a new place for dinner.

The Restaurant interior is very colorful and I love that about it. In the photos that I saw online, I didn’t realize that the chairs were just covers that had all the beautiful colors but either way it’s a lot for the eyes to take in.

We arrived on a Friday evening close to 5 o’clock and we were the only ones there until we were just about to leave. I do believe that they have more orders that are picked up by DoorDash and delivery services.

I was excited to try the stuffed grape leaves and my plan was to get the hummus with pita bread and add lamb to it for my entrée. Unfortunately, they were out of the stuffed grape leaves, and when I tried to order the hummus, they were also out of the hummus. That was unfortunate, but I went ahead and ordered the chicken Shawarma roll which came with french fries.

We both liked our food, which was fresh and flavorful. The fries on my platter don’t look appetizing, but they came out hot in seasoned just right! We also ordered the fried green tomatoes and place of the stuffed grape leaves that we wanted as an appetizer. They came out hot and fresh and was very delicious.

The value for the price was great! After both of our meals to include one soda for my son it was only like $36.

Overall a good experience. I’ll definitely try it again. It’s not one of my top choices with all that Birmingham has to offer but definitely worth coming back to.

My wife and I have been here several times. We have ordered from all three menu types (Ethiopian, Cajun, and Indian) and everything that we have eaten has been very flavorful and cooked well. The staff is very helpful with explaining what the dishes are. If you have a lot of people that like different styles of food then this is definitely a must try place. The price is great for the amount of food that you get as well. We will absolutely continue to visit this place. Sometimes they are out of some of the options but that just makes us want to come back for more honestly. From a former 15+ restaurant worker this place really is a hidden gem!!!!

I hate to be the one divergent opinion, but I think the primary problem with this experience was that I know Ethiopian cuisine and this was not done in that manner. The enjera bread had been made from frozen and was freezer burned with a bad smell. The gomen was turnip greens from a can – appallingly bad. Instead of just going over every single thing and tearing it up, I will say the overall feeling was warmed from frozen, canned, and not spiced in the authentic way (not a drop of Niter Kibbeh oil in this cuisine as far as I could tell). I was very disappointed, but now I know. Either make it myself or go to Atlanta….

We loved this place! The food was delicious. We tried samplers and shared. Some things were spicy and everything was seasoned to perfection! The server was kind and attentive but not very chatty. The mango juice was heavenly! We will be repeat customers for sure! The atmosphere isn’t anything fancy but the it’s artwork or the walls and music or TV playing. Thank you! P.S. Get the Sambusa! It’s so good!

We were pleasantly surprised by our experience here. The neighborhood and look of the shopping strip it’s located in is hiding a real gem. The service was quick and friendly and the food was just simply fantastic. My wife and I had a later than normal dinner in a Saturday evening here and there weren’t many other diners present when we arrived but during our time there we saw heavy traffic for carry out orders. The menu is unique in that they offer three different sections of foods on their menu, Ethiopian, Mediterranean, and Cajun. I must say that’s a unique mix of offerings. We went specifically for Mediterranean. We ordered the hummus and pita as an appetizer and as soon as we took the first bite we knew we were in for a great meal. The hummus was phenomenal and creamy served with fresh, hot pita bread. For our main meals she ordered the falafel plate and I, the chicken schwarma plate so we could share and try both. We were impressed with both selections. The portions were good for the cost. We will definitely be returning to try more of their menu!

Have never tried Ethiopian before, but with Mediterranean and Cajun on offer, we figured we’d be able to find something. As it turns out, Ethiopian was what we both got, and we loved it! The place wasn’t busy, but wasn’t dead, either, at lunch on a Saturday. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and food was ready quickly.

Ordered fried plantains, chicken awaze tibs w/ rice, 3-vegetable platter w/ injera, and a small cup of gumbo. All were fantastic. For novices like us, the awaze was similar to a curry, with an earthy, paprika/chili flavor–and very spicy! Generous portions on the entrees, too; we were full to bursting by the time we left.

When I was in Birmingham for Christmas I had a craving for Ethiopian (it happens a lot!) and so google was my best friend! With it, I found this amazing little spot that delivered and had very good reviews!
I unfortunately didn’t get to dine in so I cannot comment on the decor or setting but the food was wonderful!
The lamb was tender and juicy with the right amount of heat, deliciously sour Injera and an equally enjoyable chicken dishes.
Can’t wait to try this place again when I’m back in town, so many things left to try!

My husband and I visited this restaurant twice and we have thoroughly enjoyed the food and experience both times. I love the ambiance and the music. It’s not too loud and some good tunes.
The food is top notch and some of the best that else have had around! The prices are good as well.

I’ve read the other reviews and I highly recommend that you experience this place yourself. The food itself is phenomenal.
