My family and I make a journey every few months from the lowcountry. They are generous and meet my expectations every time. Lunch is a fantastic deal! It’s really fun to eat here and try a variety of rolls and it was my first time trying hand rolls, which I know are soggy if they aren’t fresh, but these were crispy and so good.

The interior is pretty beat, like duct taped seating. I think the booth colors and styles are an odd choice, like 1970s vibe. So, I don’t rate the atmosphere highly. This doesn’t affect my desire to go here though. It would be awesome to sit at the sushi bar, but that wasn’t an option the times I’ve been.

This place is absolutely wonderful. Firstly the Sushi is very high quality and delicious. There isn’t a single piece of Sushi I got that wasn’t fresh or didn’t taste great. Secondly the price is incredibly good for all you can eat. Having the ability to eat unlimited Sushi for under $20 a person at lunch time is a deal you absolutely cannot beat.

The service is amazing as well. Infact the last time I went I took my little cousin who did not gauge his hunger very well and ordered far more Sushi than he could eat. This place charges $0.50-$1.00 per piece of Sushi that you order and can’t finish, and we had about $50 dollars of Sushi in front of us even after trying our hardest to both eat it all. When the waitress came over she chuckled and only charged us $3 for the $50 worth of leftover Sushi. That lady saved my wallet! I would 100% recommend this place to anyone who likes Sushi.

The ambiance is absolutely beautiful. I loved all the decor and features that really made this place special. When I placed my order, I was a bit confused, and so were the people with me. I wish there was a little more guidance on how to order the food. I ordered way too much food and was forced to eat all of it to avoid an upcharge. A simple “hi, how are you doing”, and “have you been here before?” could have avoided a lot of embarrassment and frustration. Our waiter was nice and worked with us. I think the lunch prices are reasonable and it wasn’t busy at all. The food was good and came out much faster than we expected. Overall, even though I may not agree with their food policy, the food was served quickly, and the hot items were hot and fresh. I highly recommend it.

It’s a tradition for our friends to come here for Birthdays. We come almost every year & have loved the sushi & service each time. One of our go-to spots in Columbia for special occasions/get-togethers. We love the hibachi meet, miso soup, & sushi here. The appetizers are delicious as well. We come for the all you can eat sushi, & always have a great time.

I loved this restaurant. Going for my birthday was a great idea and the food was very delicious. The vibes at the restaurant were very chill and very good. The fact that I got my food very early on was amazing. No one likes a long wait for food, even if it’s good. The service was very welcoming and nice. Since it was my birthday, I got a free fried cheesecake and I felt very appreciated. Now, a major thing that I thought was an issue, especially since I was with my 91 year old grandpa, the floors were very slippery and you could slip very easily. But they were just keeping the floors clean. Another thing that was an issue was that in the booth, it was very uncomfortable to sit in because it was hard to sit down. Overall, a great restaurant to get quality food!

At first glance this place was nice. Great parking, a clean entryway, and greeted promptly. The place was full of people. The appetizers, miso soup and tako yaki were delicious so there were similar expectations for the sushi. We ordered several plain maki rolls and several special rolls. When delivered to the table the aesthetics looked pleasing. It was short lived. The crab roll was literally a piece of imitation crab meat in rice and nori. The spicy tuna maki looked as though it was breadcrumbs with a drizzle of red on top of it, and it tasted as such, no tuna flavor, nothing spicy about it. It turned to mush in the mouth. The special rolls all had the exact same flavor profile. It was quite disappointing. The inside of the rolls again were full of this crunch stuff with barely any fish. They were melding into just bite size pieces of mush, with little flavor. They were each topped with a crab/sauce that took over the flavor of the entire roll. Everything tasted the same. It was even more unfortunate that even though we endured and ate all of the pieces of actual fish scattered on the tops of the rolls, tuna and salmon, we were still charged for not eating the imitation crab roll.
Our service was great. The restrooms were clean. But we will not be coming back. So, SUMO Sushi and Habachi will remain our go to sushi place.

Came in on a Wednesday night (6/24). I was told it was a 15-minute wait. It was actually over 20 minutes. The service was nice but slow. All you can eat (AYCE) sushi was very good. Food is made to order. Food is fresh, and they don’t cheap out with what they put in the sushi. I would say it’s cheaper than going to a Japanese restaurant and ordering sushi. It’s $25.99 per person at dinner and, in my opinion, is well worth it.

First impression, looks fancy upon arrival. The furniture is worn but still usable.

Now, the waiter we had wasn’t attentive as I would had hoped. Long intervals between orders and drink refills. The buser was actually more attentive to our table than the waiter.

Now for the food. Kind of disappointed because the quality of the sushi was on the warmer side for the raw nigiri dishes. The crab salad was just disappointing because of the size and taste which seemed like just a splash of mayonnaise. The best item I had was the takoyaki and chicken teriyaki. Both were savory and cooked to perfection.

I think a main issue for my overall experience was the lack of caring for the table which lead to long intervals and messed up orders

The food taste outstanding. Good quality of sushi to be all you can eat. Thai tea taste amazing. Service was helpful and friendly. They are very honest with the prices. I got a parking spot easily. They sell alcohol. (Import beer, Domestic beer, Wine, and Hot and Cold Sake. They have only Pepsi soda beverages, and non alcoholic drinks like my tea 🙂
The restaurant is beautiful inside. Very elegant and it has a big bar where you can be sit, drink alcohol and eat as well.
