Upon entering, you can smell the essence of a great baker. Flour, sugar and cinnamon surrounds and hugs you. Bakers lurk in the back, then the friendliest bakery you’ll ever meet greets you with a big smile and cheerfully guides you to your soon to be sugar comatose.

I’m not sure how you make baked goods taste bad but there was not a single good thing out of the five items I bought. I really wanted to like them-they’re nearby, would love some fresh baked goods, and wanted to support a small local place. It’s like you can taste the preservatives and everything was overly sweet. Tastes like frozen food. I’m sad to give this place a sad review.

My husband Eddie and I are from New Jersey and recently moved to The Villages. We miss our bakeries from up North.
We came across Red Rooster Cookie Jar and just the smell of butter coming out the front door welcomed us in .
We got our two free cookies for our first visit and we bought the butter cake. The butter cake did not disappoint. It was a big hit at our party we went to and I’m sure a whole bunch of new customers are on their way to the shop ! We will keep spreading the word. Thank you
Lisa and Eddie Regan till we see you again

Super cozy, fun place you must check out. Convert home into bakery shop. Very cute space, like you would see in a Hallmark Holiday movie. As you walk inside, it’s a very small, intimate space, decorated perfectly for a home town bakery shop.
Baked good are delicious and you can tell are made with love. Chocolate cookies were soft and amazing. Lemon cookies were flavorful without being overpowering with lemon. Prices were VERY reasonable. We also got a Bacon and Cheese Loaf. Have not tried that yet but looks and smells like its going to be delicious. *Note: they have some items in the back room so ask if you want something you don’t see. They may have it ready. Staff was super friendly and ssweet. Truly nice people who want you to be happy.
Highly recommend Red Rooster Cookie Jar. It’s what you envision with a hometown small country bake shop. Love it!

Praise Jesus I have found an actual bakery near the villages! This is in lady lake. It is the cutest little bakery and everything is made from scratch. I bought a couple items to start with since I’ve never been here before. They had a very large selection. I bought a brownie, huge cinnamon roll, lemon cookie,CC cookie , peanut butter cookie, snickerdoodle cookie. Yep ate everything in 2 nights! INCREDIBLE. I am so thrilled 2 find this place. I drove 25 minutes and will be going back again & again!

Fun little sweet shop with a great selection of cookies, friendly and personal service and reasonable prices. Cookies for your dogs, too!
Gingerbread cookies aren’t on the list below, but they were great.
No indoor seating, but a couple tables and chairs outside. Seems more stored to takeout orders.

I’m so glad to have found a bakery close by. A REAL bakery, with delicious and fresh baked goods—and, affordable. Cookies were to die for, and the cookie cheesecake was so good we ate it in the car! Clean and friendly atmosphere. Yvonne was happy to serve us, nice, and conversational. We will be returning!!

Dada surprised our little Cookie Monster with a visit to @rrcookiejar
This place is SO cute, and the owner is incredibly sweet and welcoming—she truly treats everyone like family. We grabbed cookies and sourdough to take home, and Tinsley got a peanut butter cookie she absolutely refused to share
