Fantastic food, service and ambience. I can’t say enough about it. A little concerned when I saw the menu as nothing really jumped out for me. Everything we ordered however was excellent. Food was reasonably priced. Wine was good but on expensive side. Decor was upscale but reserved vermont/new England vibe. Booths were our preferred seating. Very nice. Attentive staff but not overly so. Just right. Wedding party outside intruded a little bit with the loud bass but didn’t ruin dinner. Would definitely eat here again.

The Red Rooster at the Woodstock Inn was a phenomenal selection for dinner in Woodstock, Vermont. For dinner we selected the chicken and sea bass. Both exceeded our expectations. Our server, Tom, was attentive, knowledgeable, and provided accommodations throughout the entire meal. Highly recommend checking the Red Rooster out on your trip to Woodstock.

The service was outstanding. The cocktails are basic. The food large portions and had solid flavor. The fondue was delicious highly recommend getting that as an appetizer. My son love the Seabass. The burnt brussels sprouts were tasty with just a little pop of spice. The muscles were delightful appetizer as well. My daughter love the Oreo cupcake for dessert.

Reserved a spot here earlier this month for a birthday lunch after a beautiful spa day at the Inn. What a mistake! Ordered Fish & Chips and the Steak Frites. Everything tasted as though it were prepared with very old oil. Not only was it disgusting, but the waiter seemed more interested in closing out the bill and leaving than worrying about the food. Huge disappointment, especially for the price.

Restaurant is always lovely, but if you try anything while in Woodstock, please try the clam chowder here. BEST CHOWDER EVER. We ordered it for takeout from the bar and were pleased with the portion and taste. Perfect for the start of fall.

Fabulous ambiance, friendly and attentive staff, but the food left something to be desired. Our first course was the cheese plate, and while it was beautiful, it wasn’t as grand as I expected. Our dinners were all right– he got the chowder and the brussels sprouts, and I the chickpea dish– but we were underwhelmed. I’d normally be willing to give a restaurant another chance, but I just felt like the food wasn’t worth the price.

Stopped in for late lunch. Had veg tacos. They were stuffed with grilled vegetables. Three tacos. Very good. It was around 2:00 so tables were mostly empty. Service was ok.

While we were guests at the Woodstock Inn & Resort we had four breakfasts, three lunches and two dinners here. The food was delicious and well prepared, and the servers were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is very relaxing, and we really enjoyed all our meals here. Definitely recommend the buffet for breakfast–it was outstanding.
