For $112 (without tip included), we had the bleu cheese and mushroom burger, royal burger, regular burger with onion rings added, Impossible burger with fries and steamed broccoli, children’s pizza and fries, and queso fondido. Our server, Alexis was very kind and friendly, however never asked if we wanted more of the bottomless sides (fries, broccoli, onion rings), and we would have liked that. Everything was cooked well except for the bleu cheese and mushroom burger that was to be medium rare and came out too overcooked, and the steamed broccoli was slightly past it’s usable date and had black/moldy-looking portions on several pieces, which was not appetizing. Other than that, our late lunch was very good. The campfire mayo sauce is fantastic, as well as the garlic parmesan fries.
The restaurant as a whole is large enough for big groups and there’s such a variety of items on the menu that I’m confident really anyone can dine at Red Robin.
Hey Red Robin, if you’re looking for a new spokes person, I can guarantee I’m probably your biggest fan. Any of my friends would also attest to the fact that this truly is my favorite restaurant. I had my 27th birthday here, and brought 15 friends to join. It’s amazing.
This place is my all time favorite restaurant, besides Ruth’s Chris. (Clearly, this is a very high compliment.) I always know what I’m getting, that I’ll love the food, and know the “food to cost ratio” (which absolutely determines how much I like a meal) is satisfactory. Also, their gluten free options are incredible. Dedicated fryer for their fries, and alterations to their burgers that actually taste good.
Consider this my application.
Dressings, complement the Burgers well. Everyone should order Bottomless
French Fries to pair with it. The Grilled Chicken Sandwich is delicious with any of the toppings. The Lemon Cake may have been a special dessert for the day, and it surely was tasty. The service was great and I had refills on the Iced Tea
with Lemon.
The lighting is good enough to read lips and sign, but if you’re short you’ll want to bring a baseball cap or the bright hanging light bulbs will blind you at the table. If you’re hard of hearing you probably won’t be able to hear your server and they won’t likely speak up or gesture, but they will duck their heads and repeat themselves at the same volume. Happens every time, so now I just point to the menu and let somebody else at the table order for me.
The food is good enough but their prices are climbing beyond the price point that the food quality reaches. The fries are always hot because they’re always making them, so that’s nice.
Most of the items on the menu are delicious. Most of the items on the menu approach or exceed 1,000 calories. They have tips on how to save a few hundred calories, like not ordering cheese or a bun, but that’s no excuse for not having more nutrition on the menu for such a high calorie count.
I ordered the avo-cobb-o salad, which is only about 600 calories without dressing. It was no $14 salad. It’s mostly iceberg lettuce, which is dirt cheap and offers no nutritional value.
The burgers are always good and the buns are always disappointing. The buns arrive wet and they eventually fall apart from all the stuff pulled onto them. There are better buns out there and I expect better at that price point. Conveniently, this location is in Columbia, where most people can afford to eat out without looking at the prices, anyway.
It could be a great restaurant, but instead it’s expensive, with no nutrition, sky-high saturated fat, and sticky tablets on the table that you have to pay to use.
I remember Red Robin being so much better than it’s become.
