Nice place to eat. Our server Joan was great very attentive and prompt. She made sure we had every and did not feel rushed. The catfish was great. The mash potatoes are actually real. Rattlesnake bites live up to there name. I recommend giving it a try.

First time in Amarillo. Decided to try this place for lunch and it was delicious. The fries are fresh cut and the lunch portions were more than enough. Enjoyed the complimentary cobbler with my lunch meal.

I was not impressed. They are overpriced and you do not get your moneys worth. Also I ordered a ribeye and it was a sirloin at a rib eye priced. I ordered it medium rare but it came out medium well. The fried okra was really burnt and crunchy. The server was sweet and attentive. I would not recommend coming here and won’t be back again. It was an evening at dinner time and there were not a lot of people there. The free cobbler is not worth it either.

new to the area looking for the best steakhouse. we’ll folks they dropped the ball ordered the 14 oz ribeye medium rare it was almost raw the meat was soft and grainy to the point it was chewy. and tough fat streaks throughout. big pieces of fat around the edges. those where actually the better part of the steak. the rest was of the food was better the salad was good and the appetizer texas toothpicks where good. our server she was excellent. but overall when your a steakhouse your steak needs to be on point and it wasn’t.

Red River Steakhouse is a popular destination for steak lovers, boasting a solid 4.2 rating from over 1,400 reviews. Known for its mouthwatering, perfectly cooked steaks, this restaurant offers a hearty menu with various cuts of meat, from juicy ribeyes to tender filets, all grilled to perfection. The portions are generous, and the flavor is consistently praised by customers.

The restaurant’s rustic atmosphere adds to the experience, providing a comfortable setting for both casual dinners and special occasions. While some guests have noted that service can be a bit slow during busy hours, the quality of the steaks and the overall dining experience makes it a worthwhile visit.

Place was recommended for their chicken fried steak. The food overall was just OK for me. Except for our initial encounter, I would say the service we received was very good. Our waiter was very sweet and friendly. She took great care of us. When we first arrived there was no one at the hostess desk and we waited for a while. We almost decided to leave and go someplace else because it was taking them so long to seat us. It was a Sat night, but after the dinner rush so it wasn’t busy. There were only a few other people eating. Someone walked by and said someone will be right with you while we were waiting. It was still another while before someone finally showed up to seat us. The decor is super TX and very cute. My son loved the feel of the restaurant. I really appreciated the live music, it was great. The bandana touch for table napkins & large Mason jars for drinks is cute. On the food side of things, the fried pickles and cheese fries were good, the salad was fresh and I enjoyed the hominy green chili side, very yummy. I read reviews of the pickles being too salty, but we didn’t have that experience. Also, I mean, they’re pickles, so um, yeah, they’re salty, kinda a given. My son enjoyed his patty melt and my husband said his steak was good but a bit more on the well-done side instead of medium. We all got our food, but my son’s fried pork chops didn’t come out until a bit later in the meal. Our waitress told us “sorry, we have a new cook and he doesn’t listen.” ummm ok. I had the chicken fried steak, it was cooked well but flavorless. It was very easy to taste that the flour batter just wasn’t seasoned. There is salt and pepper at the table, but it had zero flavor alone. A flavorless piece of meat fried in flavorless batter. My daughters chicken tenders and my sons pork chops also tasted like they were fried in the same batter and therefore also flavorless. Neither one finished their meal since it tasted like nothing. The baked potato was delicious. The cobbler was also yummy. My potato salad was very sweet so I didn’t eat it. Personal preference, I don’t like sweet potato salad, but someone else might. As mentioned, all of the fried items were cooked well, the meat inside was tender and the fry on it was nice and crispy, but since it tasted like nothing, it just wasn’t palatable for us. The gravy was just ok, I’ve had better. Everyone liked the fries and loved the onion rings. Also, a storm blew through while we were there and water started dripping from the roof onto the table next to ours and started splashing on my daughter. They might want to look into getting that fixed. It was at the end of our meal and had just finished paying our check so we didn’t ask to be moved. Overall, we probably won’t be back and we wouldn’t highly recommend it, it was just ok. If you’re just going for bar drinks and to listen to some live music, this is a good spot.

My first time here coincided with Saturday Prime Rib Special Night and it did not disappoint. The food was great and the complimentary cobbler was a great way to end a fantastic meal. Returned on 10.12.2024 and got served by Joanie. The Chicken Fried Steak she recommended was AWESOME!!
