Service:
Sweet, friendly, and patient. They has a good level of professionalism without being too stuffy.
Food:
California Citrus Salad – Delicious and quite possibly my fave. It’s very refreshing with the mandarins. The candied pecans add a hint of sweetness and an undertone from the natural creaminess of the nut. The lemon poppyseed dressing is a lil sweet as well and adds a nice tang.
Miso Black Cod – My mom loved the sautéed mushrooms and the bokchoy! The fish was nice and juicy, not dry, but she said it was lacking a little in flavor.
Ravioli – The tomato sauce was very yummy! Well balanced sweetness, a little creamy, and tomato tang. The ravioli was filling and I liked the other added veggies with the ravioli.
Vanilla Creme Brûlée – Sooo creamy and tasty. The custard wasn’t overly sweet and perfect. My only critique was that the sugar top was rather thick but that might be good for some. Also, the leaves of the strawberry got stuck and I don’t really like eating the leaves. Otherwise, a great dessert.
I’d love to come back here for a more special occasion! It’s a wonderful place with great vibes.
Service from each server delivered the same positive energy across the board and when it came to our cocktails, flavor was consistent each time we ordered another. I loved the ease of not only charging to my room but also having liquor and food separated on the bill was not an issue.
It was really nice to dress up for new years and have a nice meal.
Wish the staff was a little more attentive, but it was a busy night with a lot of people celebrating. But the vibe was still nice.
The staff also helped me find my lost umbrella and managed to track me down before I left the building.
Mistakes were made with the salads and entrees we ordered; unless what was prepared is the norm. The appetizers were okay, not the best, but it met bar menu casual options. Desserts were plain.
There is a lot of expectations for a hotel restaurant to do well and impress. Presentation, accuracy, quality are just a few examples that were missed.
We were seated outdoors. I found the tobacco smoke annoying. I am guessing, maybe at the golf cart station folks were smoking. I think the restaurant needs to relocate back up to one of the other floors, keep the dining guests away from the smokers.
Besides having good food, service is another part of the dining experience. Raise the bar on how to take care of the guests. Don’t need casual dining service at a place that is suppose to be above casual. Or change the name to “Red Bar and Grill”.
There are other places nearby that provides a better dining experience. Red needs to wake up and focus on a top notch guest experience.
The place was called the “Red Restaurant and Bar” and I ordered the Permesean crusted Chilean sea bass(excellently cooked and seasoned perfectly!) and the Vietnamese spring rolls(great taste and it was pretty descent) along with their Vietnamese(good overall, just like any other spring rolls) spring rolls.
I’d definitely come here after a long day of golfing!
***update***
Tried the lobster corn chowder and it was phenomenal. It was very flavorful and creamy but wish it had more corn or lobster pieces. I’d recommend the cup size. The house burger they had was about average and nothing special but still good. The white chocolate bread pudding was a solid desert, especially with a side of vanilla ice cream. A great spot to go to after finishing at the Ike or Babe.
