Fantastic dinner at Red On Main tonight. We were warmly greeted and quickly seated. We started with perfectly prepared very tender Calamari, the BBQ Shrimp was exceptional and the Dates, my word, an extremely unique and flavorful treat. The half duck was superb. Not to be missed. This evening special was White tail tenderloin. It was the showstopper, truly magnificent preparation and just simply delicious. A very unexpected treat. We finished with fresh coffee and NY style cheesecake. All the staff was helpful and friendly. Which was so very nice after a 7 hour drive to Madison. Red On Main is definitely on our return to often spot.

We visited at noon on a Saturday. We parked near the Dollar General and walked. Our waiter was very nice and quick. I ordered the shrimp platter. My meal consisted of four large shrimp fried and skinny French fries. My husband ordered a burger. They both tasted fine. We ordered the crab and spinach dip for an appetizer but this item is no longer offered. We have no complaints. It was quiet and a great experience.

Exquisite! First time having dinner on Tuesday 12/30 and place was still packed. My GF and I were still able tomget a table after a very short wait.
We shared the Dates app, the KY Bibb salad and the tomahawk porkchop… all were prepared and presented beautifully. Without question the best meal I’ve had in awhile. We’ll definitely make the drive up to Madison just to eat here again. *Highly Recommend*

Fabulous, upscale dinner with friends while visiting Madison. The service was friendly, well versed about the menu and attentive. The turf and surf special was outstanding. We all loved the calamari appetizer which had a real “kick”. Great atmosphere inside, the bar area was a little quieter. There is also seating outside.

This was our first time to dine at Red on Main and it was fantastic! Our service was excellent as was the food. I had the filet and it was very good! It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. While this restaurant is probably best suited for groups of 3 to 4 people, we had a party of 8, made reservations, and it was no problem for them to accommodate us.

Found this place on Yelp and went in for lunch! Darien(?) was our server, she was friendly, cheerful and helpful! They had a seasonal cocktail that I tried and a couple of specials. We ended up sharing the steak sandwich special. Cocktails were perfectly crafted – in appropriate glasses ( a pet peeve of mine )and the seasonal one was delicious- it tasted like apple pie.
The sandwich was chunks of filet, with cheddar, onions and chipotle mayo – plenty for two and served with shoestring fries.
We shared the flourless chocolate torte for dessert- a little slice of heaven!
We asked about Italian restaurants in the area – no wonder we couldn’t find any – there aren’t any. A couple of other places were recommended and we were able to take a look at their own dinner menu – we could definitely be back for dinner! Don’t miss out, definitely worth a visit!
Update:
So we returned for dinner & we’re lucky someone didn’t show up for their reservation – we arrived at 5.45 on a Thursday and the place was full!
Our server was as Azalee – cocktails were once again awesome (the special from lunch was not available so I had an espresso martini). We shared the calamari appetiser, plenty for two or even three. It was light crispy and had some banana peppers in there too.
For our main courses my husband had the creole pasta, and I had the crispy duck. The pasta was filled with large shrimp, sausage & chicken. Crispy duck was delicious, loved the crispy potato croquette – sadly the carrots were undercooked but the food portions were plenty big enough. They have a nice selection of wines also. Dinner was about $70 per person (a cocktail each, shared appetizer, 2 entrees & 2 glasses of wine)
Red on Main is like 2 different places, one at lunch & then it transforms for dinner!
Thanks Darien & Azalee for making our trip to Madison special!!

We are here twice since the menu is different for lunch and dinner.

I had the pub burger and fried “button” mushrooms. Both were excellent!! Great sear on the burger and the mushrooms were simply outstanding. But alas, too full for dessert.

The next evening, we were back for a small plate appetizer and the missing dessert.

I ordered the crab cake and followed it with the cheesevake. Both were absolutely incredible. 10 out of 10. No notes.

My husband and I stopped by out of curiosity, we waited to be seated approximately 5 minutes. The restaurant was busy, it’s an interesting shape, the kitchen has an open window so you can see the staff. We were seated in the back due to some tables being reserved. We sat next to two blank canvases and had 4 dog art photos near by as well as another blank canvas. The wall we were seated next to kept shaking everytime someone on the other side it sounded like closed a door. The drinks and food are very high priced except the beer. He got a $4 bottle of Bud Light and I got the pomegranate martini for $12, we shared a Creole pasta for $28. The pasta was hot, only had two shrimp and two andouille sausage slices, a good amount of cubed chicken. It has a great flavor but very high priced for the amount of pasta was disappointing. When we received our food we had not yet received our silverware. It was a delicious meal but over priced.

Our hands down favorite meal while in Madison, IN. The food was outstanding and our server, Mark, was exceptional, making us feel as though he was welcoming us into his home from the moment he approached our table. We started things off with a blackberry margarita and a cranberry orange whiskey sour. The Madjool dates atop a delightful Romesco were a new experience for us both and were the perfect appe-teaser for the deliciousness to come. My husband enjoyed a cup of New England clam chowder and crawfish pasta and I ordered the tomohawk porkchop, topped with roasted walnuts, tart apples, Tasso ham and a drizzle of balsamic and served with crisp asparagus and a horseradish potato croquette. We finished with a shared slice of peanut butter pie topped with fresh berries and cream. I don’t know that I’ve ever enjoyed a meal as much or had a last bite that was as fantastic as the first, but Red on Main made it happen. It was more than a meal; it was a very well executed dining experience.
