I came in today after my mom had a massive back surgery and I am honestly not sure what is going on with the portions lately. My daughter got a breakfast with ham that was pretty much just a single thin slice of deli meat. My mom got a turkey reuben that was mostly coleslaw with very little turkey which is a bad sign because she eats like a bird and rarely complains about serving sizes. I even noticed another customer complaining to a waitress that her corned beef sandwich was oddly tiny too. On the plus side my burger was actually great with good flavor and a good size. Our server was also very nice.

We did have a small issue with the seating though. My mom has a super stiff neck and cannot lift anything while she is recovering so she asked a waitress to help when she noticed her chair was wobbly. The waitress was sitting at a table on break and just kept telling my mom to switch it herself. I had to explain that I am disabled and my mom just had surgery so neither of us could just hop up and move furniture. She finally switched the chairs but she seemed very irritated about it. To be fair all the chairs in there felt like they desperately needed to be replaced.

Every time we go here, there’s an issue. First time there, it took forever to be seated and we were the only ones waiting. It also took forever for them take our order, bring the food and get the check. They are SO SLOW to do anything. The 2nd time wasn’t as bad but when she did the sginacki she almost lit herself on fire and then the cheese didn’t even cook enough. Eveything still took a little longer than it should but not as bad as the first time. Then we go there another time and ask for a menu so we could sit in our car and see what we wanted to order to go and they gave us a catering menu. So we had to go back in and get the right menu. Then we decide we are just going to get a side of garlic spread and make something at home. So i go in to order it, she advises me its the size of a salad dressing cup and she has to check the price on it. You can hear them arguing in the back that its $1.99 and the cook is screaming it’s $10. She comes back with a big styrofoam cup and i told her that i dont want that much. Last time i ordered just a side of garlic spread it was only $4. She said well, we don’t have that size right now. I’m like, ok, can’t you just put the amount equivalent to the $4 size cup into the bigger cup. She says, oh, yeah, i didn’t think of that. So then runner end up calling the owner who told them that it was only $4. So she left to go get it and was gone for longer than 5 minutes.
To be clear, the food is amazing. That’s the only reason we keep returning every once in a while, HOPING the service will be better. I waited until we got bad service 3 times before deciding to leave a review. It sucks cuz we really do like the food but the bad service makes us not want to return.

as I said in the photo of the list of names of my review tonight, I want to give you this official update on February 10, 2026 at this red Olive restaurant.

Tony and his crew created one of the best meals that my wife and I have had in years at this place where we’ve had hit or miss sometimes good meals and sometimes lacking. But tonight it was exceptional the Angus steak burger patty sorry I forgot the name of it with the baked potato and the stirfry was cooked to perfection. The caramelized, onions and mushrooms covered the meat and it was just so tasty. I just couldn’t believe how much I saved all three of these parts of my meal the blue cheese dressing offered on this fantastically creative salad that had all the vegetables and not just lettuce but the croutons oh my this dressing was the best blue cheese dressing I’ve ever had anywhere and you could tell it had blue cheese in it. it was delicious tapped with my favorite diet cola without ice. This was a dinner made in heaven for me. My wife had the omelette, ham and Swiss cheese with hashbrowns that she precisely wanted a certain way and toast well buttered was absolutely delicious as well and she really enjoyed her meal. Carly our waitress, had a great personality and represented the assessment establishment so well with her performance of being a great waitress she asked questions. She made sure that the order was correct. In fact when she accidentally gave me a different dressing than the blue cheese I mean, just as she turned around she came right back to the you ordered blue cheese and corrected it and I’ll tell you she was a wonderful personable waitress and then when she had to leave BRYANNA are hostess took over to finish the meal and she as well was very personable and a great employee. The staff tonight were exceptional and again I highly recommend this restaurant even when we’ve had less than exceptional service in the past but who cares these people need to be kept so I’m telling and ordering the management to keep these people. This is a great team and they served all of the customers very very well including the other waitresses I didn’t meet.

An off duty employee , Easton. almost spoiled our dinner tonight her loud voice in the back kitchen speaking very, very loud, and I asked our waitress to ask her to quiet down, please it was disrupting, but the young lady continued for a while, but side from that I had the eggplant moussaka and with the Greek sauce on top it was absolutely delicious and the German tomato soup. I’m sorry you will not find that anywhere in the state of Michigan. It is the most delicious soup I’ve ever enjoyed and I’ve been coming here for many years. I apologize for not taking pictures, but I was hungry and the big surprise was the corn. I forgot that I got a vegetable with my egg eggplant and it was corn and I don’t like corn except corn on the cob and so on, but I decided to try this and it was the most delicious corn. I mean I swear they took this right off the cob and put it in a bowl it was that good and I will tell you. I’m definitely coming back here if I have corn again cause I love the other vegetable, especially they’re stirfry but dang that was great I’m old was a fantastic waitress, great personality very caring aunt. I highly recommend her and she’s a keeper if management does read this updated review. my wife did not have enough corn to take home so she gave me the leftovers and I greedily took it. That’s how good the corn is. I’m corny enough, but this was better than even me.

I have worked in a Coney Island restaurant and i’ve never experienced a employee being loud in a abrasive even after she’s been politely told the quiet down. I’m glad I asked an employee with her name was because it was not good but my waitress was excellent.

Our first time ever at a red olive. The decor itself is similar to an older Dennys restaurant. The food was tasty, the portions generous and the price was about average for this type of restaurant. The Spinach pie was a different and a very pleasant surprise in the taste and texture. The mens restroom could use a good cleaning. The sinks wete very dirty and the hand flush valve on the urinal did not work and as a result it generated a rather unpleasant odor.

not what I expected. I guess I expected too much or the Red Olive near (Warren) me is far superior.
the food was average at best. we had fried clams (bad), chicken sandwich (ok) and pasta with marina sauce (can’t mess that up) ahhh and cheese sticks (the ranch was runny)

this is just simple food. their menu is much more extensive, so I’d stay away from anything abstract!!

it was cold inside the restaurant, and empty for 630 on a Friday, so the atmosphere in general doesn’t exist. at times there is awkward silence even the is on mute!

“Best Greek Salad” is a bit of an overstatement. The olives are whole and with pit, (its fun knowing that you might bust a tooth with every bite) they should pit-less and sliced. The pepperoncini’s are whole, again should be pepperoncini rings or sliced. Cherry tomato’s.. should be a normal tomato cut to bite sized pieces. The trend follows, if you get chicken kinda sliced but not really bit size pieces. Check this out thought, if you order the pita bread for an extra $0.75 you get one piece of pita bread cut into 4 pieces, that makes sense why nothing is sliced in the salad they spent all their time slicing the pita bread DUHHH!!! SMH. Really $25 salad for 4 people an you get one piece of pita bread… its not the only place they skimp, their short on the olives (ironic considering that’s their name) and the cucumbers …no shortage on lettuce More appropriate would be “Greek Salad Preparation Required”

This has quickly become my favorite restaurant. The staff are friendly and the food is amazing. There’s sometimes a wait during the busiest evenings but never more than 10-15 minutes. This is the only place you can get pastitsio this delicious in all of central Michigan.

A family run Greek owned restaurant that has multiple locations throughout Michigan.

Open 7 days a week serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Prices are very reasonable and service was fast and friendly.

Came on a Sunday morning about 945am with a party of 7 and we were seated immediately. When we left every table was taken.

Had the gyros and egg breakfast that came with 2 eggs, has browns, gyro meat and toast. I elected to skip the tomatoes and onions on the gyro meat. Huge portions and cooked just the way I ordered it. Only 8.99!

They have gluten free options as well as a kids menu.

A good casual restaurant serving Greek,Mediterranean and American fare.

We stopped in after watching a baseball game. Very friendly staff. Our waitress was great. The menu is quite extensive so everyone should find something. We selected this restaurant because of its Mediterranean menu. It was not a disappointment! Great food (and plenty of it!). Service and food were great!
