My boyfriend and I went here our first night of our trip, but I wish we went later on because nothing compared the rest of the trip!! The environment is cozy, yet sophisticated, and the food is unlike anything else you can find in the area, in the best way! The tapas portions were the perfect amount, we got three menu items between the 2 of us and finished it all without feeling overly full! Overall, such a great experience that we considered changing around reservations and just going here 3 nights in a row!

Red Oak Bistro offers a wide variety of carefully prepared ingredients served as a small plate style meal. The meal was OUTSTANDING as you could actually taste every single ingredient used in each plate. Each bite was extremely fresh, flavorful and DELICIOUS. There were also various menu options and the owners timed each plate Perfectly which allowed you time to relax and enjoy conversation while also enjoying the meal and/or drinks without feeling rushed. We could tell that the owners really enjoyed and cared not only for their customers but for each plate they served. We hope to return again soon and look forward to trying more scrumptious food selections. Oh by the way, the chocolate truffle mousse and the Bakalava was FANTASTIC! The salmon roe cavier, smoked oyster flatbread and the Kebabche were some of our favorite “must tries”. I Also love how the owners only serve a small number of people at a time (preferable by reservation) which makes for a more intimate setting.

Me and my boyfriend went here to cap off our trip in Gatlinburg and we couldn’t have picked a better spot. The ambiance was intimate and perfect for a date night. The service was amazing and they made you feel like family from the moment you stepped in the door. The food was out of this world, made with love, and could tell everything was from scratch. We ordered the kebabche and lamb meatballs. We will definitely come back next time we’re in town.

This is the single finest dining anywhere in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge or Severville. Elegant, adventurous tapas served in sequence makes for a long luxurious meal. The wine pairings are the best and desserts should never be missed here. Reservations are wise as this is small intimate dining. The hosts are as much fun as the food. Come practice your Bulgarian here. Love love love this place!

Simply amazing!! This place is so nice, the ambient is great, the decoration is great; it’s unique in the area. The food is delicious: we tried the lentils ragú and salmon bruschetta, chocolate torte, and pumpkin strudel. And the best of all: the service. Olga and husband are great! If you’re in the area, you have to go to this place.

Red Oak Bistro checked all the boxes for us. One thing you should know when you visit: this is an experience. You come in as a patron but you leave feeling like you’ve just had dinner with family. The owners are your bartenders, your chefs, your hosts, and your servers.

– You order things for the table, not for yourself. Share the plates, share some beverages, speak to your hosts and allow them to guide you through your meal. They have a small, rotating menu so you may have a different experience if you space out your visits.
– Keep in mind this is a small restaurant, make reservations!

We had a bottle of wine, two cocktails, 6 plates of delicious food and dessert and made two new friends.

Friendly hosts and the food was delicious! My vacation was worth it after eating here. It’s hard to find great places to eat in the gatlinburg area between all the tourist trap eateries, but this place shines. Tucked away and beautiful on the inside, I will come back if I am in the area again.

– do not go expecting huge full sized portions, this is a style of eating where everyone gets to sample. Know what you’re in for before going!

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! They serve food here in the mezze fashion, small portions of highly delicious food; there is no other restaurant like this in all of Gatlinburg!

The restaurant has an immense wine list that will take you years to try all! Don’t forget the beer, either, as they are all imports from Europe; sorry folks, no domestic beer here!

P. S. Olga and Mike, thank you! It was great to see you both again and hope to see you again soon!

We called ahead about sitting at the bar and our seats were set up and ready when we arrived. Reservations are definitely a necessity! The menu is limited but well done and plates are small so don’t expect full entrees. The beet salad was amazing – layers of sliced beets and feta cheese. The Kebabche (pork sausage) was the perfect item to pair with the Emmolo Merlot. I also love that this place is off the beaten path and away from the touristy areas.

TL/DR: we were unceremoniously told to leave because of our service dog.

The atmosphere is pretty and soothing, but it all fell off from there. High price point for the food you receive. Questions about the menu are brushed off — when we asked about the types of cheese on their cheese plate it was answered with “mostly cow.” No info on the types of cold cuts and a pickle that could have come from a jar. The chef seemed nice but the waiter was brusque.

Worst of all, we traveled all through Gatlinburg with our service dog with no issues at all and were welcomed everywhere. Here, we entered the restaurant with her and sat for an hour eating and drinking their overpriced generic offerings with no one even noticing her under the table, because that what she’s been trained to do. The waiter approached us after my partner returned from the restroom and rudely chastised us. Even with an explanation that she was a service dog (truly) he grabbed the tablet and shoved it our way. No offering of dessert, not letting us finish our $15 old fashioned. Just… kicked out.

Still mulling over reporting them to the ADA. Do better!! People with disabilities deserve to be treated with respect. We took the high road that you didn’t take with us, and that you definitely did not deserve.

Try The Heirloom Room for impeccable service, a river view, and pedigreed ingredients.
