There are places you don’t just visit, you grow up with them. Now this Red Lobster on Yonge Street in Thornhill is one of those places for me.
Back when I was a kid, this spot felt like the place to go. Birthdays, family nights, random dinners that somehow turned into real fond memories. Walking back in now, years later, it still hits the same nerve. The smell, the menu, even that familiar comfort and even be greeted by some live lobsters at the front! you don’t really think about until all of that until it’s right in front of you.
I’ve been coming here often again lately, and honestly, the food still seriously delivers. The taste is exactly what you expect, in a good way. Consistent. Familiar. Almost comforting. I’ve eaten at multiple Red Lobster establishments in the U.S. too ranging from Boston all the way down to the Southern east coast around Orlando, and that same flavor carries across locations. You know what you’re getting, and it works.
The staff deserve some real credit. Servers of all ages, from all backgrounds, and they actually pay attention. Not rushed, clear case of awareness and always respect the customers in honestly all aspects. They check in, they remember things, they treat you like a customer who matters, not just another table number. That goes a long way.
I’ve taken some recent photos and videos here, and they honestly brought back a lot of fond and wonderful, amazing memories. It’s rare for a place to still feel relevant years later, but this one does. Maybe it’s nostalgia, maybe it’s consistency, probably a bit of both.
If you grew up going to this specific Red Lobster, or if you just want a place that knows how to do what is; always done well, this location is definitely in all manners worth the visit. Some things don’t need reinventing. They just need to be done right.

It has been a while not being to Red Lobster as the last time we visited, the lobster was cooked very salty. This time we ordered choice of 2 from the lobster festival menu with mashed potato topped with lobster (added $7.99) The lobster was cooked right this time, but significantly smaller than ever. Basically we paid $65 just for three tiny dishes in separate ugly bowls, the presentation is really not something you would like to dive in. The dinning hall is still the same for so many years, but it has its special classic feels. The service was quite efficient, our favorite cheddar bay biscuit was brought to us as soon as we sat down, it was quite busy Friday night, but everything was in good order.

The atmosphere was lovely, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. While the food wasn’t bad, it didn’t feel particularly special or memorable. The complimentary garlic biscuits served before the meal were actually quite tasty and a nice touch. I ordered a seafood dish, which was decent, but I personally found the pasta to be more flavorful and enjoyable. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience, mostly due to the service and ambiance. I’d consider coming back, but probably to try different items on the menu.

Such a nostalgic spot with a cozy atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. The food was well prepared and cooked to satisfaction, and our server was excellent—knowledgeable, attentive, and always appearing at just the right times.
One note for consideration: during our visit, the air felt a bit still at times. As someone with asthma, I experienced some discomfort partway through dinner. This may be something worth looking into, as improving airflow could make the experience even more comfortable for all guests.

Yesterday it was my first time at the Red Lobster! If you love seafood, its a very good place to come to cause its fresh and of a very good quality. Warm atmosphere, good service and veeeryy delicious food. Great place for family gatherings! definitely bringing my friends and fam here next time! Thank you!

With a birthday surprise and the Holiday season , Tom and Jimmy as our staff made the family night so amazing . Prompt , friendly , professional and attentiveness fantastic.
