I ordered the Ultimate Feast ($43). I got two Maine Lobster tails, Walt’s Shrimp, and Shrimp Linguine Alfredo. Plus my Sides were Lobster topped Mashed potatoes (+$6) and Roasted Asparagus (+$3). I had also asked for some Dragon Shrimp, this was initially forgotten so I got it for free, just a little delayed. Okay I’ve had their Cheddar Bay Biscuits before from the grocery store and they were okay. I finally see what the hype is. Fresh they are so much better. They almost melt in your mouth. Simply fantastic. The Lobster was good, however there was a rubbery tastes and feel to parts of it. My guess these were frozen and some point. Still overall enjoyable. The 3 shrimps were all excellent, probably also frozen to start, but I couldn’t taste it. The Walt’s Shrimp was nice and crunchy and paired perfectly with the Cocktail sauce. The Shrimp Linguine was delectable. The Alfredo sauce was yummy and pasta was perfectly cooked. The Dragon Shrimp was excellent. The shimp had a nice crunch to it and the Dragon sauce had a little kick in it, together they make a wonderful combination. The Lobster topped mashed potatoes were very good. The lobster seemed less rubbery and the potatoes creamy and tasty. I don’t think it’s worth a $6 upgrade, still a nice combination. The asparagus was properly cooked, I would like to see it in some type of sauce. That being said, I don’t see why it’s a $3 upgrade. Plus the soda was another $4. Overall the food was all enjoyable and my stomach was happy.
The service was fast and friendly. Everyone seems to work well together.
Overall a 4 star review. Obviously this isn’t a high end seafood restaurant and also obviously the ocean is nowhere near here so some freshness is lost. Would I return? Yes, probably not for the lobster, but I’ll get a shrimp platter next time . I also really want to try their chocolate cake
– Bacon Cheeseburger – $15: Char-grilled patty, maybe 1/4lb, but maybe 1/3 lb. I asked for it medium and it was about that. It was medium to high quality (probably on the higher end). It was done right.
The signature sauce dominated the taste slightly. I had a small mess from the sauce after so they do lay it on thicker. The sauce is a kind of light thousand island sauce, but with some other complex flavors to compliment it. I enjoyed it.
The toppings were fresh. The bacon melted in the mouth and added a slight crisp texture. The cheddar cheese was not quite as sharp (which I prefer). The bun held it all together well.
Is it worth $15? For the quality, I’d say so. For people who don’t care for seafood visiting with friends who do like seafood, this is a win. They don’t play games or treat it as an item that plays third fiddle. Their burger is indeed serious business. Are there better for the price? Sure, but not many. I’d recommend it even at this price point.
– Fries (comes with the burger): Medium to large cut fries. They were quite soft on the inside. Ironically, it was not salted enough this time. You can add salt in this case. I tried pepper, too, but I preferred it without. They were super hot when arriving and still very hot after eating the burger. They know how to serve a hot meal.
– Cheddar Bay Biscuits: Comes free with meals? I was not charged, so I assume so. They were super soft and very salty. The light crust on the outside was tasty and very mildly crunchy. I saved one for last to see if sitting out would degrade them, but they were still plenty soft and tasty, though it was just slightly cooled, though good enough for sure. Quality stuff.
See also their daily specials (add a side for $2).
– Mon: $20 Lobster & Shrimp
– Tue: $20 Snow Crab Legs
– Wed: $25 Steak & Lobster
– Thu: $15 Shrimp or Chicken Alfredo
– Fri: $15 Fish & Chips
I also wanted to try the Brownie Overboard. It sounded huge and delicious. The waitress said it is normally shared. I take that as a challenge. HA HA.
– Service: EXTREMELY pleasant, very helpful. She showed me the basics of the menu right away so I knew how to read the menu and find what I wanted. The food arrived quickly. She made sure I was always attended to and nothing I needed was waiting ever. I was stuck furiously taking pictures during the few seconds I had when she was not there. HA HA!
– Atmosphere: Very well kept up, clean, and very nautical. You could walk around the place for a couple of hours looking at all the items on the wall. You will see a lot of sailing and shipping paintings and tools. I like to visit the lake shore in Michigan and this place makes me feel like I’m close to the lake. Warm vibes going on for sure.
– Conclusion: The prices are a tad on the higher end, but they make it worth it. I am not a seafood fan, but this was a fun visit and the burger was worth it. I’d recommend Red Lobster.
Visited on a Wednesday at 11am.
The atmosphere is quiet and comfortable.
We started out with drinks- I got the UNDER THE PURPLE SEA Tito’s Handmade Vodka, watermelon, fresh lime, and a Butterfly Tea sidecar that magically transforms your drink. It really is magical- sparkly!! He got a KENDALL-JACKSON VINTNER’S RESERVE
Chardonnay | California. Both were good- I especially liked the sweetness of my drink. Very candy like .
Of course we indulged in the goodness of the biscuit, and carried ourselves away to cheddar bay.
We both got crab legs- he got the snow cream and I got the BAIRDI, and he got some lobster tails. I ordered the crab Mac n cheese as a side, and honestly, it wasn’t that great. I didn’t like the crumbly (onions?) on top- not pictured in the menu- and the crab was really fishy, so if they still offer that (this is a late review seeing as this was a summer visit … sorry) I won’t be ordering it again. We enjoyed our crab legs.
We also got the STRAWBERRY
CHEESECAKE BLISS (New York style cheesecake topped with fresh strawberry topping and whipped cream.) and kinda made a mess of it before I remembered to take a photo.
Grandville Red Lobster has always been decent. It’s the quality you expect from a red lobster.
UPDATE: sorry about the poor pictures but I forgot to take them before eating. Came here with 2 kids- Red Lobster does a pretty good job with them. They ordered the Mac n cheese and the chicken fingers. I ordered some BAIRDI crab legs and he got the surf and turf. Check for new pics!
