First attempt

They are a relative new addition to the switch Blackstone.

The Pho 11 Dollars 3.5 stars
Its a home made beef noodle soup. The soup on its own was decent, but when you ate the noodles it was a bit too bland.

The banh Xeo (vietnamese sizzling crepe) 9 dollars
I didn’t eat this hot, but I enjoyed it much more. It was a 4 when it was cooler, but it might have been a 5 if it was hot. I was waiting for other food, so by the time I got back from getting the other things, the quality of this might have deteriorated.

Pork belly Banhmi 8 dollars…
This was a 3.5 to 4 star item for me.

Korean fried chicken (gojuchang sauce)
My experience of KFC has been from Vancouver mainly (where Asian food dominates). I was disappointed by this version. It was a 3 for me. I did not finish mine. The batter was just too thick and it wasn’t crispy enough. If you like a thicker batter then this might be for you. As an emulation of Korean fried chicken, It did not meet my expectations.

Vietnamese iced coffee boba tea
Their boba is brewed with tea from the tea smith.
Skip the boba. Get the coffee

I actually didn’t order the food, so I can’t give indications on service points.
I just ate the food.

It is one of the restaurants that are located in the switch in blackstone beer and food hall. It is counterservice.

The 3 of us kept saying the same comment over and over between bites as we were eating at the Red Lantern restaurant.
We have a Pho restaurant just 3 blocks from our home but now I will drive to the Blackstone when I want authentic Vietnamese food because this food is worth my drive!
Also take a minute to read the story behind why Matthew, the executive chef, opened this family restaurant … INTRIGUING!
Very reasonably priced!!!

My friend and I tried Red Lantern for the first time today. We ordered two banh mi sandwiches, BBQ porkbelly and BBQ pork char siu. Both were delicious! Initially,  I ordered two boba drinks, the taro green milk tea and strawberry green milk tea. The strawberry one was amazing it had real strawberries in it, not just sugar syrup like the other boba places. I even ordered another jasmine milk tea boba. The tea is brewed fresh and you can tell their boba drinks are handcrafted. They’re really aesthetic and taste great!

Always great to see new Vietnamese joints open up in town. This place is fantastic and one of the only joints that serve banh xeo. It was their weekly special but hopefully they can add it to their menu full time.

Their Vietnamese food is 100% authentic. They have all the classics like Banh Mi and Pho, but they also do less common hits like Banh Xeo. I’ll be coming back for their new specials A LOT. My favorite is the rice noodle dish bun thit nuong.

The soup base is made with real beef bones, no msg. Take home your leftovers (if any) and it will congeal like the real deal!

I tried their vegan Pho and it was amazing! The tofu was cooked to perfection and the broth was very flavorful. Before I went vegan, I tried Pho with meat at a different restaurant and the meat completely turned me off. This definitely changed my opinion of Pho! It is nice to have another cuisine with vegan options in Omaha! Will definitely recommend!

We ordered takeout. The service was good, and the vegan rolls were fine, but their vegan pho is so bad that I couldn’t eat a spoonful of it (I’m a Vietnamese who grew up eating pho at least two times a week). Any Vietnamese who knows the cuisine can tell you that the vegan broth does not taste like pho AT ALL. I was very excited about this new restaurant, but we won’t be coming back.

I’m always looking for good Asian food, and this place is awesome! The sandwiches are very tasty. The bread for the sandwiches are soft and buttery, which is better than most places that sell the banh mi sandwiches. The spring rolls are delicious. And the pho is authentic. The milk tea was superb as well. All around this place is a two thumbs up.

I love the backstory behind this restaurant! This is the best Vietnamese food in the city. The pho is absolutely incredible and the banh mi sandwiches are great too. Love all the vegetarian options! You can’t go wrong here. The vibes and food are modern yet homey.
