Great coney island chili dogs and wonderful and friendly people that work there. I used to come here in the 80’s with my grandpa when he was a kid, and he used to come here in the 30’s (yep, you read that right, 1930’s) when he was a kid. Back then, Ford had his first assembly line plant down the road and the workers could not leave for lunch. He (and other kids) used to wait outside the windows and the workers would pass them money to go get them lunch and bring it back. They would get to keep the change of 15 cents or so, which was enough for a coney island dog, and a soda, or some candy. Good times.

I was happy to make it down to this gem before they close for good in just four days, becoming the fourth generation of my family to eat here. Service is fast and friendly, and the food is delicious but very affordable. The only downside is that I took so long to come down here for the first time, and won’t be able to get back before it’s gone. Thanks for 100 years of memories in the community and in my family!

Never heard of this place before seeing it on the news, I had my first visit with them today. Great food and chili, definitely not like the average coney island. So sad to see them go. Well I’m going to visit as many times as I can before they go. You guys are awesome. Have a happy retirement.

Last week in November I will return to my favorite Coney! Red Hots here I come! Great food, great company, Richard and Carol (owners) are the best! If you want attitude they’ll serve it any way you want it, but with a guarantee that you’ll leave full, happy and with a smile! A place you will never forget and you’ll be excited to return! I loved the atmosphere, the people were absolutely charming. That being said white castle has more meat on their burgers, the chili had something in it that did not belong maybe nutmeg or cinnamon. I loved the restaurant atmosphere but hated the food.

I’ve been up and down Woodward many times over and never found this place until accidentally going down a side street today and just happened to be looking for a Coney Island. they did throw me off with the red hot name I definitely thought they had Red Hots which was kind of why I went in but despite the slight let down the food definitely made up for it. good food here very small place, chill, Mom and Pop’s type atmosphere everybody’s cracking jokes and it feels like everybody is family when you walk in including yourself.
