The short rib here is a definite improvement over Gigi’s (and half the price). It wasn’t fall apart tender like I expected but it was possible to cut without a steak knife. Mashed potatoes were well seasoned and served hot. Crispy brussels were tasty. Dining room gets very noisy but I’ll definitely be back.

Delicious food. The setting does not match the level of food being served. The place gives a coffee house/” grandmom’s kitchen” vibe but the food was more modern and so fresh and delicious. The Caesar salad was amazing. If I lived local, I would definitely go again.

Very nice & cozy little tavern! The food was delicious! Their Beer Cheese is super good too! It’s like a whipped beer cheese! Loved it! Everything we ordered was great!! My daughter loved the ramen bowl so much! Our server/bartender was very nice and attentive!! Definitely will go back, if we’re in the area!

Food was really good. The dragon fries and brussel sprouts were both 10/10. The brisket grilled cheese as good, but not my BBQ sauce choice, probably a 6/10 for me, but much higher for someone else. Our waitress was fantastic, only one serving multiple tables and refilled drinks without needing us to ask. Food came out quickly and was hot.

Date night at Red Horse Tavern was a spectacular hit! The outside of the building deceives the gem of a dining experience that waits inside. We were seated quickly in the warm and cozy dining room, Rachel, our friendly and attentive server, brought water and drinks quickly, $5.00 Margarita ! My salad, was fresh, tasty and just the right starter size even if I did have to pick off the onions, Hubby’s Taco appetizer was delicious and the cutest little Tacos ever! He was extremely pleased with his Brisket Grilled Cheese and my Plucky Pepper Pretzelwich was fantastic! We both look forward to returning!

Had dinner at red horse tonight. So unexpected and so amazing. The food was exceptional. Better than bar food. Portions were huge. Price is very reasonable. A very cute, hometown restaurant with wonderful servers and great food. Check out the menu, there are some interesting and unexpected surprises.

Fantastic place! Fried pickle appetizer is great! The brisket grilled cheese with fresh cut fries was so delicious. Banoffee pie is to die for! Service was just as amazing. Rachel was my server and she was phenomenal! Very attentive and nice. If you are looking for a great place a few miles outside of State College, this is it!

We had dinner at Red Horse Tavern and it was amazing! I ordered the Old Fashioned Burger — honestly one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Just a week ago we had burgers at Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant, and this one was SOOOOO much better — juicier, more flavorful, and half the price!
The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were super friendly. It’s one of those rare spots that feels warm and genuine. Can’t wait to come back!

We stopped by on a Friday evening before my son’s graduation ceremony. We sat in the bar area, which turned out to be great. The bartender provided the right amount of attention, making sure that we were taken care of. My wife had the brisket grilled cheese and I had the Reuben. Both were very good, as were the fries. The bartender suggested the Banofee pie, which was a combination of bananas and toffee. It was quite good. We will definitely be back to enjoy other food here!!
