I did a take out. The restaurant is more like a cafeteria set up. Order up front and find your table. It was busy on a Saturday night, butstaff was super efficient and friendly.
I posted a photo of the garlic parmesan cheese fries. Hands down best fries I have had in ages!! House made fries were super crispy! I also ordered a chef salad with brisket. It was a large portion and the brisket was no joke….very tender and flavorful.

Not very impressed with the food. My father had a cheeseburger with breaded shrimp and I had a mushroom and Swiss burger with corn nuggets. Both burgers were burnt and gristly. The burger had no taste to it whatsoever. My fathers breaded shrimp were not cooked all the way. The breading was still gooey inside. My corn nuggets were burnt and had no taste to them. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone!! There’s a reason nobody was eating in there and all the other restaurants were full!!

I would like to highly recommend Red Fox Hotel and Event Center Restaurant as a great option in Waverly. We go there regularly because the food is always very delicious. We have both tried several dishes and they all have been great.

The food comes out hot and is presented nicely. You can tell that there is a lot of thought put into the food preparation and taste. To me, it is comfort food elevated a few notches.

They offer a good base menu and add to it with new specials throughout the week. My husband is happy to see a graziano sausage sandwich offered, one of his favorites. Certain nights when we don’t feel like cooking, it is easy to go to their Facebook page and find they are having a special we might enjoy.

The atmosphere is casual and it is kept very clean. The staff cleans tables off right away. I’ve never seen messes on the floor.

The staff are friendly and attentive when appropriate.

The price is right for what they serve and the quality of the product.

I’m afraid it may get overlooked because it is out on the west side of town. I’m definitely for keeping places like this open!!

We ordered from the basket menu: we got a kids chicken nugget basket, my child never turns down fries and she took 1 bite and said they were gross. We got a cheeseburger basket and the burger was overdone, dried out and burnt like a hockey puck and the onion rings were soggy. The bbq chicken basket—the chicken was good but the fries were soggy/dry. We read good reviews so thought we would try it out, unfortunately one of the worst $50 spent.

The staff are friendly and accommodating. The food is some of the best in the area with a great selection of realistic BBQ choices.
It can be very noisy as patrons from the hotel come in and line up to place their orders. It’s just a big open space with nothing to help alleviate the echo of voices across the room. Luckily, I was hungry enough to not care too much about that.

It’s basically a serve yourself for service. Food was plentiful and excellent. The dining room was noisy. Need to grind down the doorways going outside patio. Could cause an accident. Again, food was great. My husband and I split a tenderloin and onion rings and it was plenty. Considering this, price was okay.

Full disclosure…I grew up in the South and ate a lot of great BBQ down there. So I have high standards when it comes to a barbecue meal.

Stopped in to the new Red Fox BBQ at the new Red Fox Inn in Waverly and was floored that their barbecue was so good. The brisket was fork tender and smoked perfectly. The burnt ends were superb as well.

The sides were also incredibly good – the mashed potatoes and the Cowboy beans and the jalapeño corn were full of flavor.

The place is so new that they don’t even have a sign outside yet – but it’s on the right hand side of the hotel in the same building as the coffee cafe.

A one meat special with two tasty sides and a big old piece of Texas toast was $10.99 – and it was worth every cent.

As soon as I left I texted all my friends and said to them to head over to this place as soon as possible.

I have no affiliation with the restaurant nor the staff – but I am VERY grateful that Waverly now has a terrific barbecue place.

Currently only opened from 5 to 8 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Most highly recommended!

First breakfast ordered ham and cheese omelet. Have not before had an omelet with crispy edges and not folded. Can there ever be too much cheese? Yes, could not really taste the egg. Best thing was good amount of nice ham. Second breakfast decided to go a different route. Two eggs and hashbrowns. Just the name hashbrowns implies browned potatoes. Not so. Oily shredded potatoes. Terrible. Realized that the oiliness of the omelet was the same as the hashbrowns. There won’t be a third.

We go for the Sunday breakfast buffet whenever we get the chance. Everything is always delicious. Only thing I don’t love is there is no bacon. Keep up the great work! Waverly is lucky to have you.
