Social Profile:

Barbeque grew up in the South of the USA, where cooks slow-roasted cuts of meat over fire pits to make them tender. Exposure to smoke from smouldering wood gave the meat its distinctive BBQ flavour. At Red Dog Saloon in Hoxton Square, we honour that craft with award-winning smokers imported from the USA, built to recreate the slow cooking process of those original fire pits. We smoke our meats for up to 16 hours using traditional American woods like hickory and mesquite for a full, bold flavour. For authentic Texas barbeque food in Hoxton Square, look no further than Red Dog Saloon.

A very pleasant and atmospheric place. The staff is friendly and helpful.
This was our third time there and we were pleased again. All the food was delicious and freshly prepared. We were a large group, and everything was served at the same time and kept hot.
There’s an excellent selection of juicy burgers and a variety of sets. The portions are really large, which justifies the prices. The meat mix was simply amazing, delicious, and melts in your mouth. To make eating the hearty burgers more comfortable, everyone is given a decent-sized cloth napkin, which is really convenient.
On one of our visits, there was a live Latin American band playing, which really set the festive mood for the day.
We’ve definitely become regulars.
Thank you so much!

I ordered the Doomsday Device burger/sandwich which tasted pretty good but the over-the-top greasiness ruined the experience for me, unfortunately. Loved the fries and the Chocolate Malt Shake though.

The service was super slow and we were a big group and had to wait for over 30 minutes to finally place our orders. We sat outside and the ambience was very good with the outside heating on.

I came here with a bigger group, and even though we were polite and easy customers, the staff were just straight-up rude, shouting across the place and making the whole atmosphere unpleasant. It was too loud to have a proper chat, and the place was so cramped you couldn’t even put your bag down without being told off.

The food was just as bad. I ordered a spicy burger, which came covered in a ridiculous amount of jalapeños and habaneros. I usually handle spicy food with no problem, but this one made me feel actually unwell. My stomach and throat were burning, and I even felt sick the next day. Safe to say this completely destroyed my appetite.

Overall, really not worth it. Unfriendly staff, uncomfortable setting, and overpriced food. Wouldn’t recommend at all.

On trend Mid-Western / Southern American food joint in Hoxton Square, Old Street. Plays some country music and a relaxed welcoming atompshere. The burgers are huge and dirty (in a good way). About the right price point. Service was good, maybe not the warmest, but perfectly fine. One of the better and more bankable food options in that area

It’s dude food. We ended up here accidentally because Odyssey on the other side of the square cancelled our reservation at the last minute because I am on crutches so couldn’t make it down the stairs to a basement table.
Staff are all very kind and helpful but professionalism and knowledge about the menu varies. We both got baskets where I got the platter with wings and my companion got the smoked brisket. Proteins were all well executed. My wings were deep fried but not greasy, the brisket was tasty and tender. However I hated the accompaniments like greasy chips, and slaw smothered in copious amounts of mayo. I didn’t even try the greasy looking Texas toast.
If I ever come back I will order a starter of wings and a side caesar to avoid all the greasy accompaniments.

Had my birthday lunch with two friends here on Friday 27th February.
This was my second time there and I absolutely love the place.
Food is excellent – large portions and freshly cooked. Customer service is excellent. Will definitely be back again.
Staff evening surprised me with ice cream and candles for my birthday.

Food was good vibes were good. Staff seemed a bit short fused though. One of my friends tried to ask a question got looked at the member of staff then turned around and walked away so he was completely ignored.

Cotton’s Caribbean Restaurant in the East End.

There are not many authentic Caribbean Restaurants around and Cotton’s is here to stay.

Rice was a little dry and the Oxtail was a little salty, but overall the food is decently good.

A visit to Red Dog Saloon is basically a controlled meat event. Proper barbecue, generous portions, and a meat feast that doesn’t pretend to be refined. It knows exactly what it is and leans into it hard.
Brisket, ribs, and sides delivered hot, smoky, and unapologetically indulgent. No skimping, no decorative nonsense, just solid execution and flavours that hold up under scrutiny. If you’re hungry and in the mood for serious BBQ rather than small plates and cutlery theatre, this place does the job properl

Absolutely wonderful evening, the food was amazing, the drinks were amazing, the staff was amazing!!

We had the USS Oaklahoma platter between two of us so we could try all the different kinds of barbecued meat, and each piece we had was our new favourite. The pork belly, the brisket, and the long horn ribs were standouts for us.

The food came out incredibly quickly, as did the drinks. We really couldn’t fault the service at all, nor the quality of the food or drinks.

We will absolutely be coming back again the next time we’re in London, it was definitely the highlight of our trip.

Unfortunately, we didnt get the name of our server, which was such a mistake because she was absolutely amazing and made the trip for us. So a huge, huge thank you to the person who grew up in Canada, you really made our night, thank you so much
