Whether this was the proprietor’s intention or not, it feels as though the Red Cup was plucked off a Seattle street corner and placed right smack in the heart of Chesterton. The ambiance is equal parts warm, inviting, lively, and hip, rife with upbeat conversations against the background noise of espresso machines and assorted equipment hard at work, and is without a doubt the best place in town to wait out the rain, or recharge on a sunny day.

The perfect local cafe vibes here. I went here for breakfast with my brother (a very good egg sandwich breakfast!) and we were both impressed with the how community oriented this place is. I learned about so many cool summer events by just visiting the board at the front counter. They have rotating art on the walls that you can purchase, which I found extremely cool. This is a place where the next big TV show could be like Friends or Cheers, but the cast is quirkier and interested in garden walks, outdoor movies and art exhibits. Sign me up!

This local joint has become one of my favorite places in town. The vibe is welcoming with eclectic decore. The Portobello and goat cheese sandwich is a delicious vegetarian option. Coffee is flavorful and baked goods always on point. I highly recommend stopping in.
