This was SO good! I wish I had taken pictures of the charred leeks, but they were gone too quickly! I had the wagyu steak frites which were bomb especially with the green peppercorn sauce, the bartender made me a custom cocktail according to my preferences, which was the best cocktail I’ve ever had! I couldn’t stop smelling it, and wish I had room in my stomach for another! Come here hungry and leave happy!

Red Cow has an excellent happy hour, and I decided to treat myself to a somewhat decadent meal featuring the steak tartare, prime rib French dip, and crème brûlée. All three dishes were outstanding, but the clear standout was the tartare—rich, fatty, and perfectly portioned. The crostini were buttery and crisp without being overly hard, complementing the tartare beautifully.

For drinks, I recommend the house Bordeaux or the Old Fashioned, both reasonably priced at $10. The Old Fashioned, in particular, struck a nice balance and paired well with the meal. If I had one critique, it would be the horseradish—it lacked the spicy kick I was hoping for. Still, Bea was an excellent server and a genuine delight to chat with, which added to the overall experience.

Highly recommend for a solo treat or a relaxed happy hour with friends. Another standout location from Ethan Stonewall.

Excellent food. We had the Hanger steak frites, Cassoulet (chicken confit), french onion soup and the escargot.

Came here after our courthouse wedding and we were truly given the gold star treatment. Not only was the staff so charming and evenly attentive, but the food was so good. Our steaks were all cooked to perfection, the sides incredible, and the desserts!!!! Do not pass on the desserts, works of art and delicious. Adored the profiteroles. Will definitely come back again, what a gem!!

Visited Red Cow for my girlfriend’s birthday, and was not disappointed at all. Very cozy spot, unassuming from the outside, but quality all around. Our server was attentive and welcoming, even bringing a couple glasses of champagne to start. From appetisers to mains to dessert, food was awesome. They even went the extra mile and brought out dessert with a candle. Will be visiting Red Cow again!

Visited Red Cow in Madrona last weekend and had a really nice experience overall!

A french style steakhouse nestled in Madrona, the place is warm and bustling–lots of energy, a little on the loud side, but in a good way. It feels like a neighborhood gem that still takes food seriously. Our server was super friendly, knew the menu inside and out, and made some great suggestions.

Starters: we went with the Provençal Olives-ADDICTIVE, & The Salad Verte- Super simple just mixed greens, herbs, and a light vinaigrette.

For mains we decided to split the 14oz Double R Ranch Center Cut Ribeye and it was phenomenal. Cooked perfectly medium rare, super juicy, and packed with flavor. Definitely on the pricier end, but worth it. The quality of the meat was top-notch. Paired it with the béarnaise sauce (which was creamy and herby and amazing) and their classic fries. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned–nothing too wild, but they hit the spot.

Overall:
Red Cow definitely knows its strengths–great steaks, simple but flavorful apps, and a cozy vibe. Not cheap, but it feels like you’re getting what you pay for. Would absolutely come back, especially for that ribeye and those olives.

Excellent cocktail recommendation and wine recommendation. Steaks were cooked beautifully and we were able to pair 2 different cuts with different sauces. There was a special lavender cream puff dessert that was outstanding. I would highly recommend Red Cow!

I recently visited specifically for their Happy Hour, and it was truly amazing!
The food selections were excellent—much more inventive than your typical bar snacks, with great variety and generous portions. What really makes this Happy Hour shine are the prices; they offer incredible value for the quality of the drinks and appetizers.

Beyond the great deals, the service was outstanding. The bartender/server, Isaiah, made the experience even better. He was attentive, friendly, incredibly efficient, and had great recommendations. He truly knows how to take care of his guests!

If you’re looking for a great spot with delicious food, fair prices, and top-notch service, definitely check out their Happy Hour and ask for Isaiah!

It was a vibe we had a great time. The food was amazing we started with the French onion soup hot and cheesy. The beet salad is an entree or sharable for 4. The lamb was jumping what I love is it’s a French spot but with a diverse menu. The king salmon was so good. We did desert the whole nine great experience.

Absolutely love this restaurant. My partner and I went for dinner a couple weeks ago, and everything we had was amazing. My partner got the mussles and frites, and I got the coulotte (not a steak I’ve tried before, but was thoroughly impressed with how flavorful it was). The fries were so good. I think there was some kind of rosemary on them. We split some cheesecake for dessert, and it was delicious. Could not recommend enough.
