A great place to get excellent asian food in the Florence area
Red Bowl Asian Bistro is tucked into a small shopping center right off David H. McLeod Boulevard in Florence, SC. It is just east of the intersection of I-20 and I-95. It is great for visitors needing a break without adding extra miles to the drive. There is limited parking out front but we were hungry for some asian food one evening and decided to try it. I am glad that we did. Inside it is very pretty. As you enter (through the side of the space, you are looking at a large picture of Hong Kong against the back wall with black ceilings and half walls but good lighting to give it a very elegant feeling. The light wood and open space give it a very relaxed feel. There is a small bar to your left. The sushi bar to the right and the hostess and seating directly in front. The staff was absolutely wonderful. They were friendly and efficient. We placed our order at the counter, and everything was ready in under ten minutes, despite a steady stream of both dine-in and to-go folks. I ordered the Sweet and sour chicken Bento box and and my partner ordered Steak Teriyaki. The boxes include rice, salad or soup, sushi and your meat (chicken or steak). The portions are massive. I could not finish mine and each would easily have made 2 or three meals. The food itself was delicious and the prices were very reasonable given the quality and the generous portions of food that you get. If you’re passing through Florence on a road trip, Red Bowl Asian Bistro is a total gem for quick, delicious food. I highly recommend restaurant for fellow travelers!

The food here is consistently great. I always order the Wonton soup when I am feeling sick, I really believe it helps me feel better! Their seafood is delightful and fresh, and have fast service. It is enjoyable trying different appetizers and dishes. Sometimes plates come with too much sauce. Also, their seating, tables, and arrangement of seating in restaurant could be a lot better for their prices. Otherwise, the food is always hot and prices are reasonable when compared to taste and portion size of other restaurants like Olive Garden or Chili’s.

Stopped on our way through Florence. The food was hot and good. Service was good until the end. Our dirty plates were on the table when we left, a pet peeve of mine. Would eat there again.

Service was slow. Only one server almost all the time in mornings. Food wasn’t up to par. At night one manager is rude to servers and sometimes to customers. Said manager has got on servers about anything and everything. Make sure if you get sushi be there at least 10 minutes before 7 because servers don’t get to you fast enough due to not being caught up.

I sat at the sushi bar and had good service from a nice waitress. The Tom Kai soup was very good and nice size portion. I like that you can customize a Bento box and I had the shrimp, egg roll and spicy tuna sushi roll. Everything was good except for the spicy tuna. It did not taste fresh and was not well prepared. I will visit again, but not for sushi.

The restaurant was pretty, the attendant at the counter was nice, my daughter enjoyed the fortune cookies and mints were good. That’s all the nice things I can say about this. The food was lackluster to include crunchy rice. My daughter loves noodles, but she couldn’t stomach these. This was a $40 lesson I learned the hard way. And I hate this, because we love Asian food.

We were on a road trip and I was looking for a to-go meal that was not so fast-foodish. They had plenty to choose from on the menu and they made my order to go pretty quickly. Friendly staff. Food tasted amazing! I wish I lived closer, but will return on my next roadtrip.

Very disappointed. We have a Red Bowl back home and it’s amazing. This one was very sub par. One waiter trying to help everyone but it wasn’t possible to keep up. Found metal in my chicken. No manager on the premises. Definitely won’t be back!

My wife and I have been going to Red Bull for a long time. The quality of the food is consistently high and in recent years, they have had very good service as well.
One of our go to is the bento box. Sometimes we get it with sesame chicken and sometimes with bang bang shrimp. We like the eggroll very much. Especially, dipped in the mustard sauce that they have. It’s easily the best egg roll in Florence.
Sometimes we’ll split that and an appetizer. The calamari is one of our favorites as is the chicken, lettuce wraps and the fresh spring rolls with Thai basil and shrimp in them.
Truly, there are no bad choices on their menu. Everything is very fresh and very good.

Called in for a to-go order, and the lady said 15-20 minutes. I got there in 15 minutes, and the food was ready. The food was pretty good. I really like the to-go containers they put the food in. My food was still hot when I got to the hotel.
