We came here because we were in the area, and I remember going to a Red Bowl location many years ago and enjoying the food. We were seated immediately, and our server was Angel. The inside is beautiful with lovely furniture and decor. They have a lunch menu, where you choose an entree served with your choice of egg roll or vegetable spring roll, and steamed rice or fried rice. I ordered the chicken broccoli lunch, and my sister ordered the sesame chicken lunch. We both got egg rolls and steamed white rice. The meals were around $12 a piece, which was not bad for a sit-down meal. The egg rolls were average; it seemed that they were frozen and/or mass-manufactured. They came with a side of what seemed to be sweet and sour sauce, so that helped them a little bit. The chicken and broccoli were excellent. The sauce was a dark, rich, savory sauce that paired very well with the rice. The service was amazing, and Angel was very attentive. Overall, we had a really nice time here and especially enjoyed the lunch menu offerings due to their price point and portion sizes.

We had a very average lunch experience at Red Bowl Bistro in Cary. The veggie dish in the bento box was oily and coated the tongue with a stale aftertaste, with almost no seasoning. The vegetables themselves were undercooked and lacked flavor. The Tom Ka soup tasted sour and didn’t feel fresh. Finally, the Pad Thai was bland, with barely any vegetables—just a heap of noodles without any freshness or balance of flavor. Overall, it was a disappointing meal and not worth the $45 we spent.

Early lunch service. The sushi was great! The staff was welcoming and kind. The were super nice and made kid-friendly chop sticks for our young kids to use. The kids enjoyed their sweet and sour chicken. The food came out quickly and was prepared very well. Overall a great experience!

I love Asian food so much, and when I heard about this place with a wide variety of dishes, including sushi rolls, I knew I had to make it up here even though it was pouring outside. I’m so happy I did! It has zen decorations that make you feel relaxed. The lighting is soft, and the music is calming yet modern. For the appetizer, I ordered the Spring Roll and Bang Bang Shrimp. The Spring Roll was lightly fried, and the cabbage stuffing was fresh. The Bang Bang Shrimp was so good!! It was large portioned, so it was like eating a shrimp salad. It was light on my palate because the shrimp was medium-sized, gently dipped in the tempura batter, and they used fresh iceberg lettuce. For entrees, I ordered the Sweet & Sour Chicken with Fried Rice and the Snow White Roll and Spicy Tuna Roll. The pineapple in thee Sweet & Sour chicken was ripe and would’ve been better if it wasn’t added. The Snow White Roll was cold and the imitation crab on top was chewy. For dessert, I ordered the Banana Spring Roll. The banana went bad, so it was bitter and sweet.
Overall: 6.5/10

Really fantastic place with great food and friendly service. The portion sizes are big, I spent $14.00 on my Tofu dish and was not able to finish it all. My partner got a few sushi rolls, the rolls were very well put together and grandiose in size! If you come here you definitely will feel like you’re getting your money’s worth.
The restaurant was very clean, the atmosphere was great, the staff was very friendly but soft spoken. They had these fun light fixtures on the ceiling. The restaurant lighting in general was gentle, calming and added to the overall ambiance.
The tofu dish I ordered had fantastic flavor, typically when I go to places and get vegetarian items they feel like an afterthought but this place really packed the flavor in. I’m always elated to find restaurants that serve quality vegetarian items.

This was truly a terrible dinner experience. The food was poorly prepared, and the eel sushi contained bones that were not removed. What was most unacceptable was that we waited nearly 50 minutes from the time we placed our order until the food was finally served. We have never had to wait this long at any restaurant in this state.
When we asked the server about the delay, not only did she refuse to offer any kind of compensation, but she also had a bad attitude. She stated that due to the large volume of takeout orders, “this is just how it is at our restaurant,” and even went so far as to say that if we wanted food served in 20–30 minutes, we should “go to a fast-food place.”
In my opinion, if takeout orders are affecting the dine-in experience and causing delays, the correct response should be to increase kitchen staffing, not to deny compensation and speak to customers in a sarcastic tone.
Additionally, the video security in the restaurant is inadequate, as I already pointed out. If you’re thinking about trying the sushi here, this is not a good choice.
In summary, if you’re a regular customer who expects decent food, timely service, and a respectful attitude from staff, do not come to this restaurant.

This was my first time at Red Bowl and it certainly will not be my last. The restaurant was clean and neat. The staff members were friendly and helpful. The food was incredible! I loved everything. 10 out of 10.

We were excited to try this place—the aroma coming from it was amazing, and the menu looked promising. Unfortunately, the General Tso didn’t quite live up to our expectations or the price. The fried rice was okay, but the egg rolls felt a bit off. We eat at a lot of Asian spots both at home and out, so maybe it’s just not our go-to yet. That said, we’re still hopeful to find a favorite Asian spot close to our new home and would be curious to try other dishes in the future!

We went out for lunch and I had high expectations of enjoying sushi, but unfortunately the waitress tried to explain the “buy one, get one free” offer in a very impatient way. Because I couldn’t fully understand her, she became frustrated and said, “YOU UNDERSTAND?” which was completely unnecessary. I had to tell her to calm down because I was simply trying to understand what she was saying. It really ruined my lunch. The food was good, but the customer service was very poor.
