I had my eye on Red Ash for a long time and promised myself this would be the first restaurant I’d visit on my first trip to Austin.
The ambiance here is everything you want for a great night out: upscale and lively, yet still relaxed and welcoming. The dim lighting sets a warm and intimate mood.

We started with the octopus a la plancha and the wood-roasted bone marrow, both of which were outstanding and set the tone for the rest of the meal. For mains, the tagliolini with fresh blue crab was delicate, rich, and perfectly balanced, while the sauteed North Pacific halibut was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The pork chop special was another standout. My friend described it as hearty, comforting, and expertly prepared.

From start to finish, the food and drinks were on point. A huge shoutout to Christina, our server, who was wonderful, super patient, kind, and attentive, making the entire experience feel effortless and enjoyable from the moment we sat down. I highly recommend Red Ash for dinner or date night. It’s an easy favorite and a place I’ll absolutely be coming back to!

Despite a bustling, full restaurant, the atmosphere was cozy and relaxed. Tiana’s service was IMMACULATE – she was warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Food was out of this world. Try the Frutti di Mare handmade pasta, Octopus à la Plancha, and the 10oz BUTTERY wet aged Filet, among others – decadent. Most impressively, our cocktails were served within three minutes of ordering. This place is stellar. Thank you for a fantastic experience that rounded out my first visit to the beautiful city of Austin.

Came here for an anniversary / Valentine’s date and had a good time. Service was quick, attentive, and accommodating. Had two drinks: Green Thumb and Espresso Martini for the lady, both excellent. Red Snapper Crudo was a great appetizer, Bone Marrow is a must-try. The pasta took a while to come out, and honestly, not groundbreaking stuff. Just pasta and crab drizzled on it, but the noodles were perfectly cooked. The ice cream is also a must try, the blackberry flavor was the best one. The lemon flavor was way too tart and we had to ask for it to be changed because it was borderline inedible.

If price is a factor, there are plenty of other restaurants that have better value. We paid around $175 for two and booked out 3 months in advance.

Red Ash is the kind of place that reminds you why people still go out to eat.

The room hums with energy. Fire, movement, conversation. Yet once you sit, the table feels contained. It works as a date spot because the atmosphere adds to the moment without pulling attention away from it.

The food stood on its own. Pasta had structure and bite. Sauces stayed focused. Meat showed confidence with fire, not dependence on it. Bread, oil, seasoning—nothing treated as an afterthought. Even without great service, this would have been a strong meal.

But the service elevated it.

Our waitress was warm, present, and clearly proud of the food. She spoke about the dishes with familiarity rather than rehearsal. We later learned she had been there longer than any other server on the team, and it showed. That kind of tenure creates calm. It frees you to enjoy the meal without friction or second-guessing.

Dessert closed the night cleanly. Rich, balanced, and well-timed.

Red Ash works because everything moves in the same direction. The food earns your respect. The room holds energy. The service removes resistance. Together, it becomes memorable.

What an experience. Red Ash lived upto every thing it carries as a hype and an experience. The service was top notch foremost, being sat at the bar i never thought my bartender was also my excellent server, the bar back was amazing as well. I struck up a great conversation with both.

The food overall was A++. The appetizer, octopus dish was the softest I have had for ages, the main course of steak was delectable, the gnocchi life changing and the blue crab a perfect accompaniment.

The olive oil cake as a dessert was decandant. I got two cocktails which were the perfect sidekick to my food and the dessert cocktail was amazing. Overall an amazing experience which I could go gaga over.

I had the frutti di mare and it was, without exaggeration, the best food I’ve ever eaten. One bite and I immediately thought of that scene in Ratatouille when the food critic is transported back to childhood — pure, emotional, almost nostalgic perfection

The seafood was impossibly fresh, the pasta perfectly cooked, and the sauce was rich without being heavy. Every bite felt intentional, layered, and indulgent in the best way.

I’m honestly sad I didn’t capture my appetizer (burrata), wine (bruciato), or dessert (white peach sorbetti)…they were all gone before my brain even registered that I should take a photo That’s how good everything was.

Delicious food and amazing service from Vincenzo! We got the blue crab pasta, the frutti di mare, and the cold water lobster. All were outstanding. I’m recently gluten free and I got mine with the gluten free pasta and was blown away by how good it was. Make a reservation in advance as it can be hard to get into, but this is a must stop dinner spot in Austin!!

There is no way to describe our meal, other than, Perfect. Everything was cooked perfectly. The Octopus was tender and craveworthy! The Lobster Scampi was the best Lobster I have ever had.
We went for my wife’s birthday, and they was a little card on the table with the staff signatures, wishing her a Happy Bday. It was a cute touch but it set the tone for the dinner. I honestly felt relaxed because I was confident the staff was taking care of us.
Take someone you love, take someone you hate, it doesn’t matter, just GO!!!!!!! It’s so absolutely worth it.

My husband and I went for a date night and we truly had a wonderful experience. The appetizer and main entrée were delicious, specially the wood fired filet; the meat was tender, seasoned perfectly and cooked to the perfect temp requested. The drinks were delicious, even the mocktail! However, the highlight of our night was truly the service by Brandy, she was spectacular; she was attentive, personable and kind.

My wife and I went here and had a joint birthday dinner. It DID NOT disappoint! After we were greeted with a personalized birthday card (such a nice touch), we started out with an orange and beat salad and bone marrow with bread for appetizers. We then ordered risotto, gnocchi, and (the star of the show) a 30 day aged New York strip. For desert, we finished with a slice of olive oil cake and tiramisu. This place truly lived up to the hype for us. Shoutout to our waitress, Brandy, for being so fun and adding good vibes and conversation to the night. Incredible experience! Treat yo self, people! ‍
