We had a wonderful experience at Red Apple Café. The outdoor seating was perfect, the staff was super friendly, and the food was amazing. The portions were very generous, we definitely didn’t leave hungry! The almond apple pancakes were absolutely delicious, and the corned beef hash was spot on. Highly recommend!

This was an amazing filling breakfast!!! The server was great but a little forgetful, no reason to take away a star for that as she was probably stressed from a busy Sunday morning! The prices were very good for the amount of food you got! The coffee was spilling over and made a huge mess on the table but it was delish so worth having to clean up! Cute little off the freeway diner I would recommend to anyone in the area!

Local diner. Large portions and inexpensive. Had the Ham pot, thought is was scrambled eggs with potatoes, bit is was skillet potatoes with mushrooms, bacon, ham, and green onions. The egg layed on it. Good flavor, but it was a basic meal. Coffee was typically average. Sat outside and there was a lovey breeze.

The perfect day would entail a delicious eggs benedict breakfast on the patio with plenty shade and a beautiful view. The Red Apple Cafe delivers the perfect breakfast experience. The avocado benedict with country potatoes was one of the best I’ve ever enjoyed. The breakfast plates are huge and filling. I can see why this cafe was voted “Best of Santa Cruz” for six consecutive years in a row. There are a multitude of stairs to climb in order to reach the restaurant. If this poses a problem, there is an escalator and elevator available. I would recommend the waitresses have another employee cover their tables while they are on break. The service here was awful. My friends and I came here during our vacation specifically because of the reviews. I’m not sure if they were just having an off day when we came or what but those reviews did not reflect the service that we received. We were seated and then didn’t get our drink order for a good 10 minutes. After I drink order the waitress took another 10 to 15 minutes to take our food order. One of my friends did not receive her full order and the waitress never once came to check on us to see if we needed more drinks or if the food was all right. I definitely won’t be back.

Went with my son this morning. Over priced had to ask for the server to come to our table twice to order. I looked over and she is wiping down the register monitor screen. I will never go here again. Horrible

It was busy when we arrived, but our food was delivered quickly. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The garden scramble with pesto and potatoes were delicious. There is seating outside and inside. Would highly recommend.

The food was great yet the service was subpar. We had to ask for help 3 separate times; first of all for the menus then the water then to order… The Eggs Benedict was excellent with the creamy and yummy hollandaise sauce. The house potatoes were a bit too crispy and almost too burnt for my liking. The tuna melt and green salad was great. The eggs sausage and toast was good.
