Their service is terrible. I love their food and live about a 1/2 mile from them and was ordering between 2 and 5 times a month. I get their pizza often, because they are amazing, but also order different entree’s. I used to love Recovery Room but we never go there, we’d always use their delivery service. We absolutely love to enjoy their food in the comfort of our home. Been doing this for about 8 years now, so a very regular customer. The last 2 times we’ve ordered tho, have been disappointing. We’ve had to call once we’ve waited an hour, which is a long wait based on our experience. The 2nd bummer order that I called on was an extra downer b/c the man I spoke to, AFTER he explained to me how their delivery works (why would I know just b/c I order ALL the time???) told me that if I want a hot pizza, I need to come and pick it up myself. He explained that when they are busy, like a Tuesday night in mid October, and I order from their delivery service, that I have to expect it to take a long time and to not expect the pizza to be hot. I order all the time. We pay cash and tip well. I live under a mile from their location. Now I don’t feel comfortable ordering from them. I mean, he blamed the problem on ME. Implied that I just don’t get it. Is it the same place I’ve been ordering from all this time? What about an I’m sorry? I was planning to get them to quote me on catering the holiday parties I am planning for my residents at the 2 senior housing properties I work for in Groton, but I’ve now had to change my plan. I need to know that I can count on good service, and I don’t feel that way anymore. So, so disappointed. And, I’ll miss their food… Obviously, they won’t miss my business.

Amazing. Huge portions, delicious, cheap. Appetizer, entre, desert, soda under $50. And it all slapped. Try the tortellini

Came for late lunch on a weekday. The Cesar salad, eggplant Florentine, and rosemary garlic focaccia bread were all solid. I used to love the eds bbq chicken 20 years ago, I stopped eating certain animals so I didn’t try it this time.

Stopped in for lunch and was not disappointed! First off, as you can see from the pictures the portions were generous. Full plate of food. Everything was delicious! My chicken sandwich was juicy!! Our waitress was wonderful. And I’ve already picked out what I’m eating the next time we visit

The greatest Italian restaurant around New London and Waterford. Their food is always so fresh and very good. The bread, salads, pizza are always very good. Waiters and Waitresses are very friendly. Place is very nice and you cannot find another restaurant like it!

so when I mention that the service wasn’t a five, it is definitely not relative to the server. The point is if you go for lunch, make sure you have a long lunch cause you’re not getting out of there quickly. It may not be your best choice for lunch, but might be a better dinner choice.
That being said on both occasions that I’ve been there the food was excellent. I sat at the bar, even though I wasn’t having an alcoholic beverage, but needed to be able to get out of there in a timely manner, and the bar made and bartender in both cases were excellent.
I had the cheese steak which was exceptionally good and I think for the price this place deserves its reputation as an excellent restaurant. Like I said if you have a half hour lunch, though this may not be your choice for lunch but other than that, it’s a definite go.. It’s main dishes are more Italian in nature as well as their pizza.

Excellent, high quality meals. Their pizza is my favorite around! Thin crust and perfectly cooked every time. Staff are warm and welcoming no matter how busy the restaurant is. Highly recommend and will continue to keep coming back.

We had exceptional service which is a great stand out. Overall the food was OK. The calimari was a splendid with just enough sauce for flavor but still very crispy from the fryer. My partner as well enjoyed the Asian chicken salad. My butternut squash ravioli was good but I didn’t expect the maple sauce to be quite that sweet. May suit another’s pallete though. Over all nice

We were told to come her to try “the best buffalo chicken pizza”. We did. We ordered the ‘Kris Dunn’ and was not impressed. The chicken was breaded nicely however it lacked that authentic “buffalo chicken taste”. The bacon had a nice smokey flavor but it was way too powerful for the pizza. The pizza tasted like we were eating a bacon pizza with hot sauce on it. I like bacon, but it was not enjoyable on this pizza, it was way too over powering and took away from the rest of the flavor of the pizza. We also had the Recovery Room Signature Tortellini with creamy alfredo pesto sauce. We enjoyed this more. The alfredo pasta sauce was unique. They had 3 different dining rooms (one with a bar) from when they must’ve extended the establishment. Seating was a tight squeeze. I believe they do accept reservations.

Skip the casino food and make the drive. Surprisingly good meal at very affordable prices. After checking on the availability of options in the Mohegan Sun, we decided against the long wait times and make the 15 minute drive to The Recovery Room. Absolutely worth it! Parking is available and there is a long bar at which you can eat. The waitstaff appears to be all very young, but they are well trained and work very well together to provide delicious food like the Arincini, clam casino pizza and fried calamari that my table shared. The burgers are also outstanding and the fries at just the way I like them. If I’m in the area again, this will be my first choice.
