Hobo Joe Thatsit
My mother taught me when I was young: if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all. But sometimes people need to hear the straight truth. I do business reviews often and try to support local businesses wherever I am. I’ve been fortunate to build and operate multiple successful food businesses, including three food trailers in the Boise area, and I’ll be reopening Hobo Joe’s Breakfast in Medford early this summer as my fourth location, with Grants Pass shortly after. With that said, I gave this coffee stand five chances and they failed every single time. The coffee tastes watered down, like hot milk mixed with weak coffee, and the service is just as disappointing. What’s most surprising is that the owner still works the stand yet shows little awareness of customer experience or professionalism. When I mentioned my coffee wasn’t good the previous day, it was clear that feedback isn’t welcomed or valued. Customer service and product quality matter, and this place consistently misses the mark on both. Save yourself the time and money, drive to the next town, find a Dutch Bros, and you’ll thank yourself later.

Holy cow they have good coffee there. The people that work there are amazing. The drinks are delicious. Lots to choose from.

The employees act like teenagers stuck in their gossip girl stage and haven’t figured out that high-school has been over for them for nearly 40 years and their coffee tastes like watered down warm milk

Nice drive through coffee stop. The server was very friendly and the coffee was very good. Lots of different combinations to try.

Interesting coffee bar we happened on between hikes. Really unique latte flavors. Just a drive up, no seating

Best place around for coffee. They are so professional and quick. They make sure every time I leave that the coffee is just how I like it. Customer service is the best. This is a locally owned business and I love supporting locally owned and operated!

The employees are rude, disrespectful. The OWNER is even mean and hateful. The coffee even tasted burned. I Was in town to visit family and always like to try new coffee shops this one was a terrible experience. I felt insulted and definitely like I was insignificant. I do not recommend this shop to anyone! Don’t go here of you want to enjoy a nice coffee.

I’ve only ever ordered the sugar free vanilla chai (hot) but it’s been incredible every time, my favorite vanilla chai in the area! I come out from Medford just for this drink every so often as a treat for myself. I’d love to come more often but it’s too far out of my way to stop before work and they close before I get off work so weekends it is, but that’s ok. The staff are typically friendly. Today there was more traffic than I’ve usually experienced and it seemed to be only one person working so all things considered they’re also pretty timely with their service too. The price I was charged doesn’t match their menu by 50¢ but it looks like they might be making some adjustments to the menu/prices because several drinks that are still available have been taped over. Overall I like this place and will continue to come here every so often for the foreseeable future!
