Great, authentic Mexican spot. And the best tacos de trompo I’ve found in the DFW metroplex. They even grill up some pineapple to go with the fresh cebolla and cilantro. Also: complimentary seasoned tortilla chips with awesome heated salsa casera PLUS queso when you sit down! Thumping sound system at lunch today was blaring music from Los Elegantes de Jerez, Carin Leon, and Grupo Firme. I think I counted at least 6 huge HD screens around the large open dining area – probably a great place to watch fútbol ⚽️, Liga MX, Cowboys games, etc. Was there for 42 minutes and saw not one single gringo other than myself, which makes RMT exactly my kinda place. I almost want to keep it a secret and not post this, but the trompo tacos are too good not to share.

Well I didn’t order a real Mexican taco but I have to say that if this was a real Mexican quesadilla, then the American version is definitely what has made it a household entree.

Okay before I even do the review be aware that we did not eat here. When we went in the music was so loud we could not hear the person asking us anything. I had to look at my wife who can hear better than me, and she was having problems hearing. It’s one thing to jam out when nobody’s around, but as soon as a customer walks in the door you should turn the music down immediately before going near them, so that way they can hear you. And no I do not dislike Latino music, hell I was a roadie for Latin Express, in Fort Worth Texas back in the ’80s. She didn’t even bother to try to turn it down until we were already out the door. I’m sorry it’s rude okay that’s just plain rude.

So I tried this place for the first time and i had the beef fajita torta which was mostly bread and very dry. The fajita beef had no flavor, it was very bland and had no seasoning or marinade and it appeared to be cooked in a pressure cooker and the fries were frozen, not fresh.

Highly disappointed. My beverage was the the best thing I had during my visit. I had a michelada and taco plate. Tacos did not have much flavor, one taco had one strip of meat, beans and rice were cold.

Very authentic, as the name suggests. The tacos are worth trying. You can ask for roasted pineapple with your tacos, one of the fewest places they do that around town. Last time we were there, they had live music, and while it can add to the environment, it was way too loud. Also it seem as if guest were just holding the tables to continue to listen to the mariachi. Personally I prefer a more family friendly tone. The food is great, but the way the restaurant is run my steer us away.

I’ve bought tacos here a couple of times before and they were good, not great but they were descent enough until this time. Not only did they mess up the orders but the food was raw and poorly made. The quality is alright but it’s obviously declining already. Two stars because at some point it was an ok place to eat.

The name of the restaurant literally does not match the quality of the tacos. Nothing special about tacos that are below average. The tortillas were dry and cold , breaking apart. The meat was also dry like if it was seating for a while and just put on the taco. First time trying this place out but last time also. Should of known better from a place that’s more of a bar than a food venue.
