We are Francesca and Matteo Ronzio from Italy. We fell in love with Boston after a trip to New England a few years ago, so we moved here and opened Real Italian Gusto to share a piece of our old home with our new home. When you join us in our shop, we invite you to experience the authentic flavors and dining customs of Italy — and when we say authentic, we mean it. Many of our ingredients are imported from back home. Even our brick oven is from Florence. And our fifth-generation pizza chef? He’s from Naples. But it takes more than handmade pasta and imported olive oil to make a meal truly Italian. The heart of our little restaurant is our hospitality.

I avoided this lovely place for 10 long years thinking they didn’t have GF options (and why would I want to torture myself?). I’m happy to say they can swap out any pasta now with GF penne (except lasagne!) and even made my lemon chicken piccata with vegetables without flour so I could enjoy it too! Very fresh, delicious food.

Great location having views of Mystic river. The starters, pizzas, drinks, and desserts are amazing and super delicious. The pizzas tastes original Italian ones. We tried gelatos, espresso, and affogato as desserts and they were all good. Definitely recommend this place.

AMAZZZZING EVERYTHING! Server Emily was great. Expresso Martini on point(hubby got it, I don’t typically like and I even got one as well!), I ended up ordering a few appetizers for my dinner, caprese salad, and pictured here are meatballs with fried polenta, and artichokes rolled with prosciutto, hubby got short ribs and way too full for desert. Definitely recommend and we for sure will be back.

I made a reservation for 2 about 5 hours before we wanted to go with no issue. They sat us within 5 mintues if us walking in the door. The place is very clean and spacious. We were seated at a window with a great view! The drinks were good, the apps were exactly what we expected. My dish wasn’t great (ravioli). The cream sauce was broken and a little dry. The meal my friend got was amazing.
The staff was extremely helpful and polite.

This place is great! The food is delicious, the pasta is fresh, the pizza is unreal. We even order two desserts, and they were both great. Also, good value! And the portion sizes are generous without being exaggerated.
We had the bruschetta, bolognese pappardelle, the Umbria pizza, the stracciatella gelato, and the profiteroles. And we enjoy all of it.
Will be coming back!

The Artichokes Roma was amazing! My Carbonara was offered with a few pasta choices but the sauce got dry quickly and was lacking in flavor. My friend’s Eggplant Parmesan was delicious, he said, and he was raised by parents from Italy.
Our food server, Mary B was appropriately attentive and timely with service.
