Pretty nasty to be honest, the bun was stale, the dog did have a decent snap, but no flavor. The chili was bad and left a greasy puke feeling. The cheese, completely flavorless and not melted. PBR WAS GREAT! My wife use to swear by this place, but that was over 20 years ago. Did i mention the fruit flys everywhere?

Solid place, and the only game in town after midnight. After a night of partying, we were starving at around 2:30AM. Thankfully, this place was open, and we arrived in our white-tie attire to enjoy chilli.

Hotdogs were fine, had the Chicago style with all the fixings, and tried some of the chilli. I wish I got that, but alas, it’s a recipe for disaster.

Service was fine, not rude or anything like some have described here. They were certainly ready to go home, but who wouldn’t be when a group of weirdos comes in a half hour before closing?

I am curious if the food tastes as good when sober, though.

I came into the place by pure accident on the morning of 1/18 around 1am. My car quit on me and was awaiting a tow truck. Seen this place open and chatted with the guys who was working. They was real cool by allowing me to sit and be warm on a friged morning. Was very impressed how they dealt with some drunk and loud customers who came in.

I ended up trying a chili dog and was pretty impressed

Thanks again fellas for the 5star service.

I have been going to RealChili since the 1960’s.
Just this week I ate there 2 days in a row. My all time “days I a row”? Six. If I were given a “last supper” request it would be a bowl of RealChili and a hamburger from Solly’s. But there is no death penalty in Wisconsin so I can have as many “Last Suppers” as I want. Those would be The Last Suppers to die for (figuratively speaking)

Was really excited to try RealChili, food was whatever, but experience overall was gross and left me and my boyfriend sour. No employee upon entry, that’s fine, when she does appear we are clearly a nuisance to her. We asked nicely the difference between the sizes, without saying a word she holds up a singular bowl and rolls her eyes. Then after we order, she snappily said our total, didn’t ask if we wanted a receipt or say anything, not even “that’ll be out shortly”, so we just awkwardly sat down. We spent $34 on two regular chilis and a hot dog. Employee also didn’t tell us when our food is on the counter at first for a bit. Other reviews are right, there are also fruit flies. I get it girl, we all have those days, but we were perfectly nice and met with rudeness when I purposely went somewhere small and local. Energy was so bad, I would not recommend unless you need to kill the mood on a fun night.

What an amazing place to eat. The chili is very flavorful in a fun diner environment.

Want some dog food? Come here. Worst bowl of chili in my life. You’re better off getting a can from the grocery store. Extremely salty meat piled on top of spaghetti noodles and beans. (Not even sure how this is considered chili). I’m shocked this place is even in business. Very disappointed. I tried to force myself to eat this because I paid my money and I absolutely couldn’t. Just wanna grab a beer and chat? This is your spot.

My husband used to work in the area and he wanted to show me his old stomping grounds so we came in Thursday night. Girl behind the counter was a great conversationalist and we enjoyed her stories. She kept us company while dealing with a young female customer at the register who wasn’t in the best of mood and a bit verbally aggressive, but the girl handled the situation and kept up her talk with us. Music was a bit loud, but it did not hinder our enjoyment and a pleasant time at Real Chili. Thanks!

Wow! I have been coming to Real Chili since I was a child. I always went when it was located in Bay View. Tonight was the first time I felt like I was a bother. The lady working has the personality of a gnat. I order $20 in chili with extra beans. She wraps everything up and I ask about noodles. She snaps “you ordered extra beans not noodles”. I said normally I am asked by a worker. I offered to pay extra for some noodles. She packed my order, put it on the counter and said “good day”. Wow is all I can say! Everyone is normally over happy people who work there. I hope she was just having a bad day!

I stopped in a few nights ago, the lady behind the counter was personable, talkative and proactive and went out of her way to refill my drink without me having me to ask her to. Felt like I was having a home cooked meal rather than dining at a restaurant
