There are several things that I love about Real Bread Artisan Sourdough that will keep me coming back for years to come. For one, it’s REAL bread. At a time when it feels we’re hearing, with increasing frequency, how something as fundamental as our food is basically snuffing us out one unknown ingredient at a time, Real Bread is offering a better alternative. When I ordered my first loaf, it came with a full list of ingredients. I found no synthetic, unpronounceable, ingredients on the list. No manipulated or formulated stuff designed to fool or delay Mother Nature or our bodies; just regular, real stuff. This bread doesn’t even use pre-packaged instant yeast, which, once you taste real bread, I think you’ll see it makes a difference in taste. Second, taste, taste, taste. It’s just incredible to cut, or tear, into that first loaf. We finished off our first loaf with olive oil and spices in less than a day. It’s that good! Third, it’s local. We live in Kent County (Rockford, specifically). It’s nice to know that money we spend here will find its way back into our local communities.

Truly fantastic! When simple, quality ingredients come together the right way, Real Bread is the result. The crust, a yielding crackle invitation to what lies beneath, gives way to an incredible texture and chew. Inside is a labyrinth of bubbles and corridors ready to integrate with whatever you put on top. We’re so happy to know of this local treasure – keep up the beautiful work!

A must have! My family are I love their sour dough breads. We order them weekly and are understandable, but sad when they travel. I have not had another sour dough that compares!

Ordered a sourdough loaf and LOVED IT. As compared to grocery store sourdough or even other bakery small businesses, this flavor is out of this world. The crust is hearty yet the inside is soft and holds up well for a sandwich. Would highly recommend to anyone who appreciates a high quality in their food.

I ran across this website for sourdough bread and decided to give it a try. Although it says the best thing to do is to wait before cutting into it, after enjoying the rye bread aroma in the car all the way home, I could not resist cutting into it immediately. It was amazing with just a pat of butter. I’ll be back!

Dan is such a good human, and the bread is just phenomenal! As someone with dietary restrictions, it’s hard to find places where cross-contamination isn’t present but not to worry with Real Bread! We drove from downtown GR just to get a taste of this, and Dan even took some special requests for us. 100/10 would recommend if you haven’t tried. You’ll be happy you did!

As a novice sourdough baker, I am impressed by the quality of Real Bread. I bought the rye caraway loaf a few days ago, and the flavor, crust, and texture (or crumb, as sourdough bakers call it) are excellent. I can say the same about the organic white sourdough and the sourdough biscuits. All are better than my homemade, so I will become a regular customer.

I stumbled across this bakery while I was browsing Google AI generated suggestions. My first thought was a little after work excursion with the wife to a cool European Bakery. WRONG. You order online and pick your bread up the next day. Either way, we took a chance, AND it was worth it. The experience was pretty cool despite being all online. My wife received nice little messages about how our bread was doing along the baking process and then picked it up the next day via porch pickup. The bread is great with a cheese platter, some red wine, or just avocado with egg. Generally, people just regard beard as a vessel for more flavorful food, but this bread really enhances the food experience. Congrats!
