A Bar and a sandwich counter with an old-time petaluma feel. Very popular with locals. We shared a very tasty roasted turkey club. People at the sandwich counter were quite pleasant. We sat indoors, but there was outdoor seating.

My partner and I were in the area. He had gone to high school here and wanted to take me to try Ray’s for a while. The staff was welcoming and the options on the menu were diverse. I got the Turkey Avocado Special and it was absolutely delicious – for sure one of the best sandwiches I’ve had and I don’t really eat turkey in sandwiches that often either. Parking was manageable considering it was peak lunch time.

Great place for sammiches. Residential neighborhood vibe. Nice outdoor patio with umbrellas. Our dogs were welcome. Sandwiches were very fresh and hearty, and the served with a smile.

First time here, and now after trying food from Ray’s, as a native Petaluman, I’m shaking my own head…I mean timing is everything, I know this, and yet it took me this long (*I hold out my arms really wide*) to try, why is that???
Hands down, and up one of the best warmed up turkey-avocado sandwiches I’ve had in a long time, recommended to add aoli. Well balanced in flavors!

Ate their pastrami sandwich and within the hour my stomach started gurgling and I was in bed with food poisoning the next 2 days. Ray, please throw out your pastrami – it’s gone bad. (My wife had the chicken sandwich and was fine.)

Great place to stop and have a really good sandwich! My husband and I were in the area hiking, we were hungry afterwards. So we stopped at Ray’s! Good decision. I ordered the Roast Beef special. Very flavorful. The roll was just the right amount of crispy and soft. The roast beef was juicy and peppery… Probably came from the Pesto aoli sauce! Great service. casual environment, clearly full of regulars

Ray’s is hands-down my favorite lunch place of all time. With a menu full of delicious sandwiches AND a tavern with great local beet on tap, it’s hard to go anywhere else for lunch. Hot tip: order the roast beef special “French dip style” or the French dip on garlic bread…. you’ll never regret it.
