Do NOT go to this place if you have any type of allergy! My husband and I went on Friday for dinner to Ray’s Cafe in Spring Lake and I have a shellfish allergy. I ordered a chicken dish and I asked the waitress if she could please make sure my chicken wasn’t cooked near any fish. She told me how they can’t guarantee anything because everything gets cooked on the same grill. So, I then asked if there was anything else I could order on the menu to avoid that and she told me no because the juices from the seafood would be on it and I considered for a slight second to order a soup and she proceeds to tell me, “You aren’t going to DIE on me, are you?”
We left and called back to speak to a manager and of course no manager was available, SHOCKER. We spoke to whoever answered and expressed our concerns and she told us, “We were very accommodating, we sat you down when you didn’t even have reservations.” Clearly, whoever answered the phone didn’t care either.
Absolutely DISGUSTING how this restaurant hires people like this and how they have ZERO consideration for people who have any type of allergy. DO NOT waste your time going here. HORRIBLE!!!!

I can honestly say I have never had a meal that wasn’t less than superb! Every meal is prepared and served so well that I have to go back again. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and always know the perfect meal no matter what you are in the mood for. The restaurant is always clean and welcoming no matter how busy it may be. Anytime I am anywhere near here I don’t even think twice, its always an automatic decision to go to Rays Cafe as it should be for you too.

The food was very, very salty. My wife and I both left with upset stomachs. The grill appears not to be cleaned regularly because the eggs are a shade of brown, presumably from left over grease or butter. This is also visible in the home fries which were so salty they left you with a slight buring sensation. Staff was very friendly, could have used one less busser and one more person on the wait staff. I hate to be so critical they all seemed like very nice people.

The reason we made reservations in the first place was that the food was so good last year. We thought it would be nice to celebrate our daughter’s birthday dinner here but it was some what a disappointment. We ordered lobster dinner because it was the special of the day and 2 out of 3 were cold my husband sent his back and I should of mine back also because the lobster was under cooked but I ate out anyway. The service was good but when asked the server if they had any mixers(byob) she said no but was able to bring out a glass of o.j. For screwdrivers, I guess she didn’t know what we meant. The place is friendly and inviting, just make should your lobsters are cooked.

Ray’s Cafe in Spring Lake is always a great choice. Not only is everything on the menu delicious, but the service is second to none. It is evident the second you walk in the door that the staff treats each other and their customers like a big family. Ray himself makes his rounds chatting with customers, loaded with a giant smile.

I am absolutely devastated in this place. I went to a baby shower that was held here and i love everything about it the food the place EVERYTHING! I am now getting married and for 2weeks now i have been trying to book a date for 30 people for a bridal shower. I keep getting told someone will call you right back NEVER did i go there nasty attitudes and NO HELP FROM ANYONE i will no longer come here i will no longer give you my business and i will CERTAINLY not recommend ANYONE to host there events here!!
