The cashier was very friendly and answered all of my questions. The food was a little pricey but I decided to try it anyway. I ordered the rib plate with 2 sides (I got the mac & cheese and the baked beans), the pea pickin cake, and the “fresh squeezed” lemonade. The the mac & cheese was watery and had no taste, the ribs were decent at best but the bbq sauce tasted like ketchup, the lemonade didn’t taste fresh at all, the cake was okay, and the baked beans tasted great.

Use to be a great place to eat but at $15 per person I had to throw mine in the trash it was so horrible. The BBQ sauce was chunky and not spreadable. The sandwich bread was soaked in butter. The meat was sliced not shredded & it tasted so bad. They will not be in business much longer unless they change things around quick.

I googled some bbq places and decided on this one. Great portion sizes. I ordered the hamburger steak and my wife ordered the loaded potato with chicken. My hamburger steak had no (zero) gravy and the potato was not loaded. Since I went at 7:35 and they closed at 8:00, I was not able to go back. The food was about a 5 on a scale from 1 to 10.

Well I went in and sat at a portable table (the white ones to set up outside ). I ordered a burger fries and sweet teA. My brother orders chicken fingers and fries ranch and sweet tea.
I get the receipt and it’s 30.00 ! What the hell ?
The waitress was very sweet but damn 30.00 I doubt I’ll go back . I could have sat in a decent restaurant and ate for 30.00… Yeah the name has been around forever blah blah blah but it’s not worth overpricing……

We used to love Ray’s and would eat their food all the time. Since this new owner took over the price of the food has skyrocketed! It just doesn’t begin the be worth it to eat there when so many other area restaurants have better food and lower prices. The new owner also treats his employees and customers terribly. Save yourself some trouble and go anywhere but here!

Dont be fooled by the vibe this place gives. Nice place in a nice little town but i would NOT recommend to anyone. Prices are insane! Way overpriced. There are plenty of better restaurants in the area.
Not only overpriced but terrible! Not appetizing at all, coleslaw can go to the trash along with the gravy. Another thing is how does a bbq place not have mash potatoes!
Take my word, just go anywhere else, not worth it one bit.

Very good bbq. The house bbq sauce is unusual, but good. The atmosphere is a mix of Momma’s house and a tailgate party. It’s small, but there is some outdoor seating. If you’re looking for local bbq you have to give it a try. Right by Attalla Walmart.

Just left rays they have added a few to use a card. The Owner was behind the counter and I said something about the few to use a debt card. The OWNER then said this is not free anymore. And I said ok well I won’t be back then. The owner the threw my food against the wall behind the counter. After he had ran my card and I had paid for my food. He told me he did not need my business. This was no way for a Owner to act in my option.
