This is a special occasion restaurant through and through. From the moment you enter, you are surrounded by high quality interior design that celebrates the Georgia wilderness, expensive wine bottles in their cellar, oysters on ice and servers waiting on you with the utmost care and consideration. It almost bordered on too much attention since our server boasted about how much they wanted us to feel catered to, but that’s what you’re paying for, so be prepared.
Food-wise, I loved the pimento fritters that reminded me of arancini, but gooey since there’s no rice. The spice from the pickled jalapeño mixed with the sweet honey-esk sauce paired super well with the fried cheese. I think they could elevate the dish even more by adding sprouts on top, cream in the middle, and freshly toasted crostini or small buttermilk biscuits to soak up the rest of that jelly.
The shrimp and grits were also delectable, with a good amount of shrimp and sausage on the corn and grits. I enjoyed the hint of spice from the jalapeño and the richness of the grits. My only criticism is the amount of oil in each bite. If they tone down the fat and add a side salad or other crisp, green vegetable, I think it would be perfect.

We went to Ray’s Killer Creek for Thanksgiving. We were assured that the outdoor patio was enclosed and heated. It was freezing. I never took off my coat. Some of the food items were excellent, while others were mediocre. Considering the cost, we expected a better experience.

Ray’s provided the highest of quality for our celebration. Our server Ms. J was exquisite. She gave a presence that was comfortable, professional. She anticipated our every need and desire. Our glasses were never empty. She was very attentive. She made sure we were all served with excellence. The assistant servers were very attentive and professional in their delivery of our food. Our food was very well prepared, flavorful and at the perfect temperature. Even as we were leaving, we left behind a very important item we had not realized was left behind, the attendant that cleaned our table ran to locate us to make sure we did not leave the premises without it! AMAZING! If you are looking for a high end, friendly, cordial and attentive experience, come to Ray’s in Alpharetta. You will not be disappointed.

Last night was our annual Christmas party. I was looking forward to another great experience here, as we do every year. But, I was very disappointed.
I ordered a filet mignon and when it arrived, the presentation was so unsatisfactory. As we know in a restaurant, presentation is everything.
So that actually set the tone for the evening. The Brussels sprouts were overcooked.
The wine list had a great selection, I must say.The restaurant wasn’t that busy and the service was just ok. We had the wrong food delivered to the table. All in all, I personally will not return.

After a day of show shopping with my sister we wanted a nice sit down dinner. Made a wrong turn intending to go to another restaurant, but ended up at Ray’s in Alpharetta. Boy Am I glad we made that wrong turn. From the moment we walked in the hostess greeted us with a warm and friendly smile, she even doubled as a server. All of the staff made us feel like we were in a 5 start restaurant, they were very attentive to our every need. My new favorite hostess, Simone was on point. I was inter in the basketball game that was showing cause my team was playing, and she would provide me regular updates on a piece of paper with the score, time remaining and what quarter it was in. GO SIMONE! My servers Gerald and Josh (in training). They were excellent in recommending the Faroe Salmon with lump crab , while my sister had the seabass. That salmon was so tasty OMG and all the food was seasoned PERFECTLY! I never had BBQ shrimp with fried grits cake. When I tell you that was the bomb, souse chef Walter came out total to me and gave me the recipe and how to make it. Ireally enjoyed my experience and the food at Ray’s. This was my 1st time there, but I plan on going back to check out their Brunch. Oh I almost forgot you can not go there and not try their Butter Cake! It is everything they say it is, thanks to Simone for the recommendation this place did not disappoint.

We had an amazing dining experience! The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. What truly made the evening memorable was our server, Mikkel. He was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed and taken care of. Mikkel’s recommendations were spot-on, and his positive attitude added so much to our night. Highly recommend this restaurant—and if you’re lucky enough to have Mikkel as your server, you’re in for a great experience!
